Hey Everyone,
Well....we're still here! Bad news first to rip the Band-Aid off: Hurricane Milton was pretty devastating to the area, and our farm wasn't fully spared but luckily we managed to get back up and running this week without any permanent issues. Phones are back, internet is back, power is back, so we are more or less back to normal now, aside from the stocklist. I won't sugar coat it: there's quite a bit that sold out last week, but we DO have plenty of nice fish to choose from. With the storm last week, we couldn't bring in our overseas imports mid-week like we always do. And since we have to order those imports about a week in advance, we didn't want to place a big order for more fish without knowing what the status of the farm would be after the storm passed, so we had to skip on our normal weekly Colombia, Sri Lanka (guppies), and our other far-east importations.
Now for the good news: Our farm's fish production wasn't damaged very much, and all the fish in our stocking vats in buildings did perfectly fine. Most of the other local farmers we buy from every day also were able to get fish out to us this week with the exception of the Angelfish farm (you might see angelfish shortages for a while, not sure, still assessing). That means we still have tons of absolutely phenomenal African cichlids that we brought in back before the storm, got a fresh batch of SUPER nice pearl gouramis, have tons of big tetras, barbs, and danios, and lots more from local farms. By buying these fish from us, you're directly helping support the recovery efforts not only of ourselves but of the smaller farmers that were hit too. Even though they're still able to sell us fish, that doesn't mean they got off freely....virtually everyone has buildings missing roofs, trees down all over the place that need to be towed away, and plenty of other issues that require money to rectify.
Even though we couldn't bring a restock in last Wednesday, we do still have some of the more in-demand oddball stuff that didn't sell out this week, like the fire eels, sabertooth payaras, still have plenty of the higher end Brazil plecos from several weeks back, and good stock on lots of loaches. A lot of Rainbowfish are exceptional at the moment, and we have very good stock numbers on those.
Give your rep a call if you have any questions!

Mixed sex Congo Tetra came in with some much larger males than normal. No streamers yet, but they're close! Biggest congo's we've seen in a long time. |
Rosy Tetra are back in stock. These are known as the "poor man's candy cane tetra", but they're still a beautiful tetra. |
Serpae Tetra are FL bred and might be the best red color i've ever seen on them in our facility. Absolutely don't sleep on these! Stock up while they're hot. |
Penguin Tetras are still coming in really, really great size. These are the biggest bread and butter tetra on the list this week and they look great in a school in the tank. |
Silvertip Tetras are my personal favorite tetras, and i'm going to keep posting them until you all start buying them. They look awesome, they school tighter than just about any tank raised tetra, and they're very hardy. Best of all: NOT in Petco/Petsmart! |
Lemon Tetra are usually in pretty limited quantity, but they're getting bigger right now which indicates that there's currently not a shortage. |
Cherry Barbs still coming in fantastic size and color. I'm sure you all know, but just in case, cherry barbs are NOT aggressive like tiger barbs, they're perfect community. |
Gold Tinfoil Barbs are bigger than the list says. This color variation looks much better than the standard, I like the gold body with the red fin tips. |
Red Glass Barbs came in oversized. Color on the males is intense, and the mix is roughly 50/50 for sex ratio. |
"Chili" rasboras are way bigger than normal. Looks like we got a mix of at least 2 different species in there this time, but definitely are not Briggitae. |
This is what's in the tanks currently as "2 inch albino rainbow shark". Way over 2 inches. That may or may not continue into next week. |
Giant Danios are a fish we've been told by the farmer WERE affected by the hurricane, but the ones that are still available are extremely nice size. My advice would be to get 50 now and have plenty to last the next few months while they're out of stock. |
Red Cobras are one of the best looking guppies still here on Friday. We do have a guppy restock scheduled to arrive Sunday like normal, so the guppy selection should be much better next week than it was this week. |
Bumblebee (aka BB) Platy are a little bit nicer strain than most of the more common types. They do have a bit of variation where some are closer to solid black and some have some orange on them, but all have a nice calico patterning to them. |
Assorted platy are a nice colorful mix right now with almost no "blue" (grey) or white fish in the mix. If I were ordering this week, i personally would just get this mix instead of trying to order 12 of each type on the list since they're so nice at the moment. |
Green swords are really good size with a solid number of males (probably 1 male to every 3 or 4 females....which is way more than the velvets or neons have). |
Assorted FL bred swords are really great size with a mix of probably 5 or 6 color morphs in there. They're nice enough that I'm not unhappy about the other swordtail selection this week. |
Gold Sailfin Mollies are big and have more males than females. The males have stunning dorsal fins. |
EB rams are running a little larger than normal and look perfect. Regular German blue rams continue to be in short supply but these we have plenty of and they're excellent. |
Salvini cichlids are in stock in several sizes and have awesome color. This is a criminally underrated fish. Everyone wants to order convicts, jack dempseys, and firemouths....and all 3 of those fish look much worse than salvinis. |
2 inch Cuban cichlids have been here for a while now and are over the list size. These will be monsters one day. |
Carpintis medium size are actually electric blues but our list doesn't say EB for some reason. Been here a while and the fins look great and they're fully colored. |
Synspilum 2 inch are starting to color up! They've been here for about 3 months now I think. This is a great size to pick them up at. |
Red Spot Gold Severums have plenty available and they all look very close to this. |
Got in a ton of new Florida raised cichlids including this outstanding Sunshine Peacock. |
Regal Peacocks might be the most intense natural blue i've ever seen in a freshwater fish. These guys look photoshopped when you're holding them in your hand. Size is great too, 5"+. |
dragon blood peacock |
Copadichromis Quadrimaculatus. I think it's the first time we've had these, and I'm super impressed. These are HUGE and fully colored. They're cousins to a Borleyi Redfin, but I absolutely love the bright yellow in the bottom of the anal fin that the Borleyi lack. Great pick up from our new cichlid supplier. |
Tangerine Tiger Haps also came in from the new supplier at the Large size, and they will probably be the one that sells out first. The name alone makes this a super popular fish, I guess it sounds really cool to say out loud in the shop or something. Color is awesome, yellow body with bright blue faces. They will also probably show some vertical bars (where they get the tiger part of the name) when they settle in and aren't stressed out in a bare bottom 40 gallon tank in our building. |
We got several species of Florida bred natural color peacocks in at the regular size too, including these Sulferheads. Some of the males are already coloring up, even though they're only about 2 inches. We also got Eureka Reds and Maulana Bicolors. All look pretty much the same right now until they start to color up. Mixed sex, but we can't guarantee any specific ratio of sexes. |
Red Exasperatus are a much differently colored strain from the standard exasperatus. I'm excited to see what theyse will look like when they grow up considering how much color they already show. |
Auratus are a common mbuna that's always in stock, and they're popular and common for a good reason! |
Large mixed Mbuna have some cool stuff in there like this Rusty cichlid and the victorian hap below. |
Albino Bushynose are decent at the small size and we also got some 2 inch ones as well for the first time in a long while. |
Gold Nugget "Iriri" are still in stock, and i'm not sure why the standard Gold Nugget sold out first. The iriri are better looking with more gold color. Also on special this week! |
L14 Goldie plecos still available from Brazil as well. This is the perfect size to buy them. They've been here for I think 3 weeks now, so they're acclimated to hard water with high PH (above 9 right now). Don't put them straight into RO water. |
Still have a small handful of the Mango Plecos left, and they've settled in very nicely. They got a lot more yellow after the first couple weeks here. |
Leopard Cactus pleco are still available as well, the last of the Brazilian plecos. These get absolutely huge, but grow very, very slow in an aquarium so it's probably not a real problem to consider with them. They'll look way cooler once they get about 1 or 2 inches bigger. |
Rubber pleco are the last of the colombian plecos we still have in stock without a restock last week. they'll probably sell out by Tuesday. |
Royal Farlowella are still here! No normal farlowella this week. |
Four Line Pictus still in stock in great quantities. Size is over 3 inches on average, very nice scavengers that are super active. |
Agassizzi cory cats are one of the few cory cats left in stock from Colombia. We do have several Florida bred cory cats that should last the whole week though. |
Dojo (Weather) Loach are very chunky and nice size with some variation in patterns too. The stripey type on the left in the picture is really neat looking but the minority of what's in the tank. |
Zebra Botia are one of my favorite common loaches. The pattern and color on them fades as soon as you take them out of water for a picture, but they're too fast and active to get a good pic while in the tank. Super active bottom feeder thats fun to watch and doesnt hide all the time. |
Pearl Gouramis came in super nice at both sizes. These are the best looking pearls I've seen in years, I can't believe they're still coming in this nice for weeks at a time. Get them while they're still this nice! |
Albino Pacu are getting really big, close to 4 inches now. |
Pink Kisser Balloon gouramis are really dorkey and cute. They look like floating heads. The clear fins don't show up so they have a very comical look to them in the tank which I know some people will love! |
Small Blue Tiger Parrots are back in stock and showing great coloration. i think they are hybridized with not just convicts but HRP's. |
Green Scats are back at about the 1.5 inch size. These are a great brackish fish that makes perfect tankmates for pufferfish and eels. |
Deepwater Rainbows have a lot of red color in the tails and fins. |
Medium Turquoise Rainbows are absolutely incredible,. I caught this male out of the tank while he was showing off to another male and the gold color is SO nice when they're flaring up at each other competing for the girls. Of all the fish on the farm right now, I think a group of these are the one I'd want to personally take home the most right now. Just don't forget, you can't sell people ONLY males.....they won't be as colorful or show off if there's no girls around, so you need to sell them to people in pairs ideally. Don't let one guy buy all your males leaving you with a tank of females. It's your store, you make the rules, just tell them it's a bad idea and you won't do that. "you must buy at least 1 female for every male you buy from us". |

The Saltwater stock-list gets sent out on MONDAY afternoon.
In saltwater, we offer tons of top-of-the-line corals. If you need really nice frags to sell for $10-15, we've got you covered. If you want a $400 show piece unique Australian brain corals, we've got that too. Tons of the coral frags are aquacultured in-house and are named lineage pieces of various SPS and LPS. Import frags that are MADE in-house are also available, and are great options to get slightly bigger pieces that customers want like torches, hammers, blastos, acans, zoas, etc. |
