Hey Everyone,
While we always like seeing everyone at the trade shows and events, I must say it's also a bit of a relief knowing we have a few "normal" weeks in a row now to get back into the swing of things here. This week we got I think probably twice as much imported in as last week and the list got a fair bit chunkier as a result and we have plenty of cool new things to talk about. And now with everybody back in the office I know they're working on getting some fresh cichlid shipments in here sometime during the middle of next week to get both Africans and some rare Central American stuff.
Colombia resulted in another batch of wild True Altum Angelfish! The small batch we brought in 2 weeks ago did great, held up perfectly with no health problems, and didn't have a single DOA when we shipped out, so the bosses decided to up the quantity and reorder them. Fantastic news for anyone that missed out last time (I think we sold out on Monday last time). And as an added bonus this batch came in a fair bit larger as well, while still being small enough that they should acclimate without much issue.
A new morph of tiger barb is in for the first time ever, and they're honestly pretty cool, see the barb section below. Also got an extremely nice group of Rainbow Gobies that have some serious size to them (misc section). Finally got some new orandas out of China at the 8-9CM size, I know some of you have been waiting on that.

The fresh batch of Bleeding Heart Tetras is absolutely perfect, not the biggest we've ever got, but we're selling them as a medium so the price is a little lower and the color and size is still very good. We also imported some Black Phantoms since the local Florida supplier ran out a couple weeks ago, and they're smaller than the Florida fish but look really good still. All male congo tetras also look great, and I feel like they're a little larger than usual. The fantastic blue sheen on them in the picture below is what every one of them looks like.
Red eyes are back and absolutely gigantic. I'll probably never understand how it's possible that the local farmers are totally out of something for over a month and then when it's back in stock they're huge.....You'd expect them to be very small when they're finally "ready" but whatever the reasoning behind it, works out great for everybody.

Albino Pacu - getting bigger and bigger every week |

it's not often we get a new barb we've never seen before so this is a fairly exciting week. The new "black" tiger barb is pretty dang cool! They don't have much orange left on them at all, more or less solid black with translucent gill plates. They honestly sort of remind me of the coloration on an adult black ruby barb, so they should be quite popular.
Cherry barbs are the big standout in the barb section this week. Whether you're ordering normal cherry, albino's, or veiltails, they're all running absolutely huge. Decent mix of sexes too so you're not going to get mostly brown females.
Lake Inle danios are also back, and we can't get many of these at one time, so if you're interested make sure to pack your order as early as possible. I think we ran out on Tuesday last time we had them a few weeks ago. This batch is even bigger and nicer than that one if you can believe it.
For Rasboras we don't have a lot of variety this week, but what's here looks great. Galaxies are still running pretty good size but the quantities are getting limited. Asian rummynose Rasboras have several fish in there that are more or less fully colored up. |

I know the list was a little short on Platies and swords last week, but now that everyone isn't dealing with Superzoo stuff, we got in more restocks and both sections are a little thicker. I think we got 3 or 4 platies back in, and the best ones are going to be the Red Tux. Great color and size on those. Swordtails we still have the XL assorted which should be everybody's first choice by far, but we did also get greens, neons, and pineapples back in this week for some more variety. The pineapples are especially bright, and the greens are the calico type.
Guppies, I'll be honest, we basically completely sold out of this week. i think we were even scratching the majority of colors back on Wednesday. We tried a new guppy supplier and didn't order as many as we normally do as a result. But we do have a big restock coming Sunday from our normal supplier so we should be back in good shape next week. I think we did go through and delete all the types we ran out of to get a "clean slate" so if the list looks really thin on guppies, keep an eye out for monday's updated "new fish" email. |

A lot of nice restocks and some new incoming on southies and centrals. We're adding an extra tank for both the medium EB Acaras and Red Spoted Gold Severums since these have been coming in great and selling out early every week so hopefully we'll have plenty to go around this upcoming week.
Got in a new batch of 2" Cuban Cichlids. These are one of my absolute favorites as adults. They don't get as big as some of the tank busters out there but they can hang with the best of 'em. Had one in with an18"+ Dovii and he was the alpha in that situation. Not to mention they have amazing contrast when they mature.
We still have a couple pieces left on the 4" Carpintis and since we've tanked them individually their fins look good and their color is outstanding. Trying to some more of these this week along with some smaller ones of the same strain. These guys are absolute stunners.
Have some nice Discus that came in earlier in the week and expecting some more on Sunday and Monday. Red Turquoise and the Snow White look the best. Assorteds are pretty small. |

Since it was a successful campaign we're continuing our WYSIWYG section with the cichlids. We've included pics of the ones we still have and keep an eye out for the Monday email as we will most certainly be adding more.
Got restocked on the medium Red Nyererei and this there are feamles in the group. This will help keep the males fired up as they do best in trios or groups. Also got in a new batch of Zebra Obliquidens. Both sexes have the Zebra striping and the males have outstanding body color. This is a Florida strain so they do differ from the original wild counterpart.
Regular size Hap Moorii are running closer to a medium. We still have some of the Albino Red Empress left and will be on the specials page on Monday as we didn't have time to add them to today's. This is a rare color morph of this fish and grow up to be really gorgeous fish. This group is just now starting to show some color.
All of the mixed Mbuna are oversized and a very nice assortment of different varieties. The large have been running huge and are a great value for sure.

Gold/Green cory are back in stock for the first time all year I believe. These are always my personal favorite Colombian Cory Cat, they're always big and they have very nice bright yellowish color. The name is confusing, because I think a lot of poeple see it and think "oh, so I order this and I get a green or a gold cory?" but it's just the name we use for this species, which is NOT the same as a standard green cory. Much nicer.
Large Albino Bushynose are back in stock with decent numbers, and worth the price. The males have lots of bristles, and all the fish have a nice bright yellow color, not that drab brownish color that I see on some lower quality albinos that get sold in fish clubs that are home-bred. Males and females, so you'll get mixed sex if you order a decent number. That doesn't mean you'll definitely get a pair if you buy just 2, but if you get 6 you should get a decent mix.
On the loach side of things, we did get BLACK Kuli's restocked. These are solid black, not striped like the standard Kuli, so be aware of that. Also got the Zebra Loaches back in stock and they're just as nice as a few weeks ago. |

The Rainbow Gobies are definitely the most exciting new fish in this category, and I hope I see them on lots of orders. If you're familiar with the "neon blue" stiphodon gobies, these are like those but much larger and slightly less brightly colored however they do also have nice red color instead of only blue. Personally I like these a lot more. They're about the size of a cigarette in both length and girth. These are true freshwater species (only need saltwater for breeding) and eat film algae really well.
In rainbowfish, standouts right now are the kamaka (full grown, nice humps on the males), parksinsoni (lots of orange and good size), and the Reds (super dark red males, very impressive).
Black ghost knives came in a LOT bigger than they have been lately, so it's a good time to stock up. I'd say average size is probably close to 4 inches right now. Transparent and brown ghost knives are also holding up well and are great options for oddballs at a cheaper price.
Large Spotted puffers are still here and still awesome. These are SO much nicer than the regular size, and the price is not much more so I'd recommend 100% of stores order larges.
Speaking of large, we have a few really big Sabertooth Payara available. Size is around 5 inches or so, maybe 6 on the biggest couple. These can easily eat full sized feeder goldfish at this size, and they do require live food.

Rabbit snails are back! We got both the yellow/orange variety as well as a couple tubs full of "mixed" variety that are really nice. The mix has some really cool solid black flesh with white or yellow spots in there. Shells are all brown.
Crystal shrimp came back in and are pretty nice, not the best batch i've seen but definitely not the worst. We had a price reduction on these so they're very worth it. Red and Orange cherry shrimp are both nice and brightly colored. |

The Saltwater stock-list gets sent out on MONDAY afternoon.
In saltwater, we offer tons of top-of-the-line corals. If you need really nice frags to sell for $10-15, we've got you covered. If you want a $400 show piece unique Australian brain corals, we've got that too. Tons of the coral frags are aquacultured in-house and are named lineage pieces of various SPS and LPS. Import frags that are MADE in-house are also available, and are great options to get slightly bigger pieces that customers want like torches, hammers, blastos, acans, zoas, etc. |
