    News & New Items
    Hey Everyone,

Thank you to everybody that stopped by our booth at the Superzoo Pet Expo!  We hope you liked what we had on display, and we're pretty proud to say that the fish we display at the show is an extremely good representation of what we have on a weekly basis.  We don't bring in extra huge breeder versions of the fish we want to bring, we pretty much just walk our warehouse and pick what looks best and send that.  If you stopped by and spoke with Destiny or Dave and you're one of my (Steven) customers or one of Nick's, let us know so we can make sure to check the log book and get you your promotion on the next order!

Honestly this week was a blur to us that were still here.  It feels like I just got done typing up the Monday email yesterday.  We got restocked daily on lots of nice big Florida bred staples and got a pretty sizable import from Colombia on Wednesday.

We also decided to make us of a little bit of extra time this week to make a WYSIWYG for the big cichlids that are available to help everybody get exactly what they want.  We will have pricing for these on Monday for you once Dave gets back.

If you have any questions, give your sales rep a call

Not for sale anymore, we took this guy to the show

    TETRAS
Plenty of nice sized tetras getting big in the Florida heat right now.  You can't go wrong with the white or black skirts, the longfin serpae, orange Von Rios, Colombians, or Buenos Aires.  All are oversized.  I'd probably stay away from standard serpae and red eyes this week, those are both slightly undersized.

The imported congo tetras are still coming in nice, and the yellow congos that were sick the last couple weeks look like they finally pulled out and the vet isn't seeing anything on them anymore so they'll be good to go now for those of you that were trying to get them recently.
Orange Von Rio still probably the best looking tetra here
Serpae LF Tetra are good size
    White LF Tetra

    Barbs & Other Cyprinids
Longfin male rosy barbs got refilled and they all have great color.  We don't have mixed sex available this week, just this all-male batch, but that's probably what everybody wants anyway so you don't have nay brown fish in the tank.

Regular and Medium tiger barbs have a pretty good difference between the sizes, and the mediums cost virtually the same, so definitely buy mediums not regulars if you're ordering tigers this week.   Speaking of tiger barbs, the greens that came in this week are small but not the worst I've seen.  I'd call them average.  But the Albino are much larger than normal, so if you want one or the other to add variety, just get the albinos right now.

Black rubies continue to come in big, even after having them on special and moving through a good number last week.  The biggest males are starting to show color.

    Black Ruby Barb
    Clown Barb
LF All Male Rosy Barbs are very nice
Green Tiger Barbs are small imports, but i've seen way worse than this before so they're actually sort of decent

    Livebearers
XL assorted swords are still coming in some days, they’re the absolute best value out of any swords we get in.  Plus, we don't have many swordtails available at the moment anyway, so your only real options are the XL assortment, the regular size assortment....stay away from the velvet wags right now, they have no males in the tank and the color isn't good.

The platy section of the list got a little shorter this week with some colors selling out and some new ones getting restocked but more left than came in.  The new highfin platies are pretty nice, it's a mix of color just like the normal assortment but with tall dorsal fins.  The solid red are probably the biggest and best.

Guppies are in pretty short supply by Friday but we will get restocked Sunday before your orders start packing next week so shouldnt be a problem.  The ones pictured below are the standouts of what's currently here.

New Marbled molly batch is really good size, and they have nice lyretails, I'd recommend those or the gold dust for your mollies this week.

    Gold MM Platy
Gold Red Tux guppy look great from above
Lemon Guppy are vibrant bright yellow

    New World Cichlids
The Altums sold great last week, thank you to everyone that ordered some!  And sorry we couldn't fill most of the orders.  I knew demand would be insanely high on that fish.  The good news is we think we will be ordering more in a week or two, so if you missed out, keep your eyes open for them again soon hopefully.

As for what's currently in stock, we have some absolutely gigantic medium veil angelfish, definitely the best out of the mixed angels from all the different sizes available.  From other local Florida farms we also got a new batch of Black Rams that look great.  Unfortunately, the standard normal blue rams are unavailable at the moment and probably will not be available for a few more weeks until more grow up to selling size.

The big WYSIWYG fish below are the only one available of each type, so if you want them you'll get the exact fish.  Get with your rep for pricing on Monday on those if you're interested.

EB Jacks came in close to double normal size, some of the fish in the tank right now are almost 2 inches!   These are a must-buy fish this week, i'm sure they'll be back to the normal 1 inch size after this batch runs out and we get a restock so get them quick.
    Black Ram
EB Jack - bigger than usual!
Heckelli 3 Inch already have fin streamers
    Med Veil Angels are huge
M51 - Caquieta Krausii Jumbo. WYSIWYG 1 available
M56 - Centrarchus Jumbo.  Probably a world record sized fish, I didn't know they got this big. This thing is like 2 inches THICK.  WYSIWYG 1 available
    M47 - Hartwegi LG.  WYSIWYG 1 available

    Old World Cichlids
We're doing something a little different this week for the African Cichlids.  We brought in a lot of really nice large male haps for Superzoo that we couldn't take, and there's such a huge variety in there we wanted to sell them as a WYSIWYG.  I'm going to post the pictures below with a designator as the caption along with my best guess as to what the fish is.  To order them, just give your rep the designator number and say it's the WYSIWYG cichlid M64 or whatever.   There's also a few Central Americans in there that we only had 1 left of.
Balloon Jewel Cichlid (at our booth at Superzoo)

    Catfish and Loaches

Lots of restocks in from Colombia again this week to keep the numbers up on everything you can't live without (pictus catfish, bumblebee catfish, oto's, farlowellas, and all the wild cory cats).  The oto's in particular in this batch are really great size, basically full grown.  My biggest tip to stores that say they always have porblems keeping Oto's alive is to spread them out.  Put a few in each tank, don't put all 50 together in a 20 gallon just because they're small and it looks fine.  They can't find enough food to graze on in a clean 20 gallon tank to sustain more than probably 5 oto's.  And by the time they make it to your store, these fish haven't eaten in probably 2 weeks since they got collected by the fisherman, so they need plenty of grazing space.

Royal Farlowellas are still here and looking excellent.  These are larger than standard farlowellas, have wider bodies, and have a cool 2-tone pattern to the body as well.  They're also fantastic algae-eaters.  I put 3 of these in my 125 gallon display tank at home a year ago, and i've literally never cleaned the glass or seen a spec of algae on a single rock or piece of wood in there, they keep it spotless.

For plecos we have a decent number of XL green phantoms, and plenty of colombian zebras and snowballs.  We wanted to put a picture below of the Blue Phantoms to warn you.  The size is honestly not good at all.  There are none bigger than the picture in the tank, they're all within a millimeter of each other.   Wait till we put them on sale before you buy them.  Should be next week or maybe even on the monday specials.  Our sales manager is out at Superzoo still so we couldn't come up with nay new specials this week or else these would be on it.
Royal Farlowella (at our booth in Superzoo)
Tank raised Julii cory cats are one of the healthiest and hardiest cories you can get
Size ranges quite a bit on these wild caught colombian snowball plecos.  This is the smallest one in the tank and the largest in the tank, the vast majority are a solid 2-3 inches, but be aware there is a range. They're on special this week for about half off so nomatter what you'll be getting fish that are worth the price or more.
This is the size of the Blue Phantom Plecos.

    Other Fish & Stuff
Tons and tons of super nice fire eels in stock this week!  We actually got 2 sizes at the same time this week and have a good number of each.  The larger 6-7 inch size is a little bit nicer, but honestly both look really good and have plenty of red on them.  It might be worth saving the dollar or whatever the difference is and getting the smaller size.

Arowana got restocked and this week they are 6-7 inches.  This is a MUCH better buy than when we have the "medium" size on the list, because medium means barely 4 inches usually.  At 6-7 inches the fish are way past the danger stage of being young and possibly randomly dying or not wanting to eat.  These are super hardy and usually never have issues once they get into this size range.  They love to eat crickets off the surface of the water, if you're a full line pet store and have crickets.  Otherwise, they'll take feeder fish or frozen/thawed shrimp.

Pearl gouramis (both sizes) are absolutely perfect right now and should be on every order next week.  This is the biggest we've been getting pearls at in recent memory, I don't know if I've ever seen them any bigger than this.  They're very slow growing fish, and usually they get sold around 1-1.5 inches so these 3 inch fish are fantastic and have full color.

    Arowana 6-7 Inch
Fire Eel 6-7 Inch and a couple of their platy friends that jumped over to play
Gold Gourami aren't the biggest but have great color
Pearl Gourami are probably the best I've ever seen
    Medium Turq Rainbows are excellent

    Shrimp, Snails & Other Inverts
Really nothing new to talk about in the invert section here.  We didn't get any new shrimp this week or any new snails.  Still have no shortage of any of the colors of Mystery snail you'd like from the list, and we have been getting good numbers on the nerites the last week or two also so should have no availability issues on snails.  Shrimp are fairly limited, these cherry shrimp featured below we have maybe 150 left but they're extremely nice.
Cherry Shrimp are nice and red, not culls

    Saltwater Corals
The Saltwater stock-list gets sent out on MONDAY afternoon.

In saltwater, we offer tons of top-of-the-line corals.  If you need really nice frags to sell for $10-15, we've got you covered.  If you want a $400 show piece unique Australian brain corals, we've got that too.  Tons of the coral frags are aquacultured in-house and are named lineage pieces of various SPS and LPS.  Import frags that are MADE in-house are also available, and are great options to get slightly bigger pieces that customers want like torches, hammers, blastos, acans, zoas, etc.
