Hey Everyone,
We're keeping an eye on the weather here and crossing our fingers for early next week that there aren't too many disruptions. As of right now on Friday it looks like the storm will become a tropical storm and will be making landfall just a little north of us here in Tampa, so a TON of rain is definitely happening Sunday and probably into Monday as well. With some luck the storm will pass quickly enough that by Monday flights out of Tampa should hopefully not be affected, but of course we will need to wait and see on Monday how things actually look. This might be the first week I would actually recommend waiting until Tuesday to ship if you normally ship your order out on Monday for Tuesday arrival, to avoid any complications or delays from the storm.
In fish news, we get a few popular options that we haven't seen in a while so that's always an exciting and welcome addition to the stocklist. Tire Track Eels are one of those, and honestly might be my personal favorite spiny eel. Fire eels might have more color, but there's something about the pattern on the tire tracks that really catches your eye. Also got Giant Gold Gourami for the first time in a while, and they did have a fairly substantial price reduction!
We're working on some other really cool stuff to come up from South America in the very near future, so keep checking back with us. Sorry I can't be more specific, I don't want to jynx it, and also you just never know when dealing with imports to know what's actually going to show up, but trust me there's some exciting stuff coming down the pipeline.
The newest GloFish®, the Starfire Red® Angels are selling better than glasses of milk at a cookie convention (is that a thing? Do they have cookie conventions?). We have a new allotment to sell each week, so we will have a good chunk of them available every week going forward. The reports we're getting from most customers is that they're selling very well, some stores have already blown through their entire initial stocking order and needed to place large restocks, so the public seems to not have an issue with the price if that's worrying you and keeping you from trying them out.

GloFish® Starfire Red® Angels are still here in case you've been doing your best "Engineer Goby" impression (living under a rock) the last few weeks. |

Penguin tetras are the biggest standout this week, they started coming in huge and so far seem to keep coming in nice, and are likely the biggest ones I’ve seen here. Many of the other Florida bred fish are also running big thanks to the summertime water temps. Like the past few weeks the standouts include Black phantoms, orange von rios, gold pristellas, both types of serpaes, bloodfins, and albino silvertips.
Got in some more big sabertooth payara, and they seem to be doing well here so far. These always seem to get people’s attention when they see them in a store, just make sure your customers can accommodate them when they get to be roughly 1’ long and have some live feeders on hand to put in their tank. Also still have some big flagtail prochilodus, these are a great option for bigger peaceful tanks, and can even act as dither fish in large cichlid tanks and may even pick at some types of algae. |

Gold tinfoil barbs standout this week, they’re already showing some nice red in their tails. We also got in regular red tinfoil barbs this week as well. While both of these will grow up to be great bright & shiny additions to larger tanks make sure your customers will be able to house them when they get to be around roughly 10-12” long. Florida bred barbs are still largely coming in at a decent size thanks to the warm ponds, standouts include golds, large & medium tiger barbs (mediums are a big step up over the regulars), albino tigers, longfin rosy and all male longfin rosy, veiled cherries, and black ruby. All of the Florida bred danios are also benefiting from the warmer water and it’s hard to make a poor choice; however pearls and golds are the obvious choice as they’re both on special. Lake Inle danios came in, these have a neat pattern to them and get a bit bigger than your regular run of the mill danio. |

XL assorted swords are still coming in some days, they’re the absolute best value out of any swords we get in. We are getting plenty of regular assorted Florida swords as well, and these are also a great bang for your buck. You can’t go wrong with either assortment, they have a nice mix of kois, calicos, greens, tux’s and other varieties. For platies we got back in the bumble bee’s and red tigers. Red tigers are a neat variant with white bodies and stripes/patches of red mixed, once they’re just a bit bigger and colored up they’re an awesome looking platy to have. Sunset and sunset wags are both super bright orange and really stand out here even under our less than great warehouse lighting. The XL assorted mix are likely going to be ready for next week, ask your rep and check the Monday email as these are always a great looking mix and are just about fully grown. Restocked on a few mollies this week including black & black lyretail sphenops, assorted lyretail, and regular assorted. Aside from the sailfins, if you’re looking for the largest mollies you should be ordering either type of dalmatian. Creamsicle lyretail isn’t far behind, but they’re a bit more mixed in size. Gold sphenops standout for just how bright they are, and they’re also running a bit larger than most other options too. Neon black hi-fin and redtail black variatus look amazing today, but I could not for the life of me get a worthwhile picture of them so please excuse the lack of a picture below. They’re very similar to each other aside from the dorsal fin, with nice red along the outside of their bodies and deep black mixed with a metallic green over the sides. Can’t go wrong with either option this week. |

Red Chili Oscars are back, and look at great as ever! They're back to "normal" size now (which, for reference, is larger than the assorted mediums, if you've ordered those) but the color is still just as bright as always. Lemon oscars are still here and holding up great as well, but the color saturation on the lemons isn't quite the same intensity as the Chili Red line.
Discus are back! We got some assorted (which contain a variety of solid blue, pigeonblood, marlboro, turquoise, and some that I'm not sure what to call them since they're mostly brown still) along with several specific color types. Of the specifics, the leopards definitely look the best, but they're also the priciest. Marlboro have nice solid red and are goign to be stunning adults when they get a tiny bit bigger. The pigeonbloods are probably the least impressive of the colors, but that's more an effect of pigeonblood biology (they never show much color at this size) than quality of the fish. With a little bit of time and another inch of growth they'll be one of the best looking strains of discus you can get.
I'd highly recommend the "select" size green severums right now, they're running larger than usual. Gold severum are on special, but they look quite a bit more bland at that small size compared to normal green severums.
Medium angelfish are all running oversized at the moment too, aside from the koi type. I'd highly recommend both of the fin types of fancy mix medium. The veils are absolutely huge, extremely nice and worth every penny. We get a LOT of questions about "how big is a medium angel" or "how big is a regular angel" so I've got a photo of the current mixed mediums attached below.

Couple new things to talk about in this section. First is a restock on the medium mixed male peacocks, and there's a pretty solid variety of colors in there now. Even amongst the mostly Blue colored ones, there's some variety in that some have red shoulders, some have white blazes, etc.
The other new thing that's pretty exciting is that we got some more orange Chromides. This is a species that really should be FAR more popular than they are. The price is very reasonable, color is bright, and they don't get too big. They're actually from Asia, not Africa, and don't really ACT like normal cichlids either. Honestly the closest comparison I can think of would be to severums. Pretty laid back unless they're spawning, and can get along in a small group pretty well. They also don't try to eat their tankmates. |

New loach alert! New loach alert! We ordered a new "mountain" loach from our Sri Lankan guppy supplier not knowing what to expect, and the fish that arrived is pretty neat. They sort of remind me of a zodiac loach but with more of a botia body. I think they're pretty cool, and since it's a loach you don't raelly need to know much about it. It's going to not bother your other fish, it's a scavenger, it gets probably about 3 inches. We're calling it a "striped" loach on the stocklist.
Colombian plecos got restocked again for about the 4th week in a row, so we have all the colombian snowballs and zebras you could possibly want. Snowballs came in a little bigger than usual. We've got 3 sizes of Green Phantom for you now, and all at competitive prices. The bigger you get on those the better the color, so it's definitely worth it for the medium over the small.
Cory cats got restocked with 4 or so different wild types, but the best is definitely the punctatus. They're nice and fat and healthy, and they look pretty cool too, similar to a Julii but they get a little more greenish color on them in the right light. Skunk cory are running a little smaller than usual, but are holding up well also.
The only catfish I really DONT like the looks of this week are the redtail catfish. Picture included below so you can see. This is what showed up from our supplier as "2 to 3 inch". They must have been using a ruler made out of peanut butter and stretched it out a bit before measuring. Skip those this week. |

I know it's a little late in the year to be trying to hype them up, but the larger size Koi have been coming in really exceptional the last couple weeks. The color mix is really good, with a lot of those large scaled "skeleton" type koi that everyone wants. if you're in an area where pond stocking is still going on in the heat of the summer it's worth getting some more to keep your selection up.
On gouramis we got the Gold Giants I mentioned up in the introduction. These are about 2.5 inches, and they're NOT albino, just gold (they have black eyes). Price came down almost 50% from last time we ordered them, so now's a great time to get a few if you like those fish. Also while we're on gouramis I'm going to mention again that the platinums are the best value fish on the farm right now. They're absolutely huge.
Green scats came in and are one of the most popular brackish fish that we bring in. The spotty pattern and green color looks cool together, and they grow fast. We also have plenty of pufferfish and archers to go along with these scats if you want to set up a brackish focus tank.

Blood Parrots are larger than normal |
|
|
5-6 Inch koi are looking awesome, lot of variety. Worth the extra price over the smaller sizes |
|
|
Best fish for the money on the entire stocklist - Platinum Gourami. if you're buying blue or gold and NOT these, you're selling yourself short |
|
|
Scats are adorably small. Dime size? The good news about them being small is they should adapt to different salinity levels easier at this size. |

Black racer nerites are back in stock for the first time in a while. They've been REALLY hard to come by, our supplier keeps cutting us back to basically zero every week for probably 3 or 4 weeks but this week we got a good number so stock up while you can. They're one of the best cleaners of film algae on glass.
Orange rabbits restocked and are running a solid average size, probably 2 inch long shells with bright yellow body. Rabbit snails dont reproduce very fast, so they're pricier than other snails, but they get bigger, don't hurt plants in planted tanks, and look awesome.
For shrimp we got some extremely nice Yellow Fires and they're definitely the best looking shrimp this week. The normal red cherry are actually not too bad either though this week, sometimes they come in a little faded and not super red but this batch has good color similar to the Bloody Mary but at a lower price. |

Solid batch of Cherry Shrimp, very nice red color |

Best Shrimp this week: Yellow fire. Super bright! |

The Saltwater stock-list gets sent out on MONDAY afternoon.
In saltwater, we offer tons of top-of-the-line corals. If you need really nice frags to sell for $10-15, we've got you covered. If you want a $400 show piece unique Australian brain corals, we've got that too. Tons of the coral frags are aquacultured in-house and are named lineage pieces of various SPS and LPS. Import frags that are MADE in-house are also available, and are great options to get slightly bigger pieces that customers want like torches, hammers, blastos, acans, zoas, etc. |
