Surprisingly busy week this week. Hopefully last week with the holiday was the low point of the summer. Restocked on a ton of stuff this week and I'll have more coming over the weekend. It's another week with a long specials page too. Keep in mind that some of these are very limited, so I guess order everything and you're likely to get plenty of stuff.
Atabapo red pikes are in from Colombia and they look amazing. The one in the pic up top is by far the nicest one here. The other couple pieces that I have are plenty red, just not as red as that guy yet. (He's probably taking a trip to Vegas with me next month). These are pretty aggressive as far as pikes go, but often do fine with non pike shaped fish as tankmates. They sometimes get pitting in their faces when they're in hard water for a long time so hopefully your customers can accommodate that.
Mosaic wood cats are back in stock. These are some of the smallest ones I've seen, close in size to honeycomb cats. This is a really neat black and white species. These Colombian fish are true Tatia musaica, which isn't going to get as much white as the Brazilian orca wood cats. They're still really nice, just may not match some of the pics you'll find from when they thought to be the same fish. They likely feed on aquatic inverts and may be picky feeders initially. Frozen bloodworms, mosquito larvae, etc are great. They'll probably also eat Sera pellets, I have yet to find a fish too picky for their food.
Orange Stiphodon gobies came in from Indo. Orange is a heck of a stretch (see pic below), but they will color up a bit more when they're more stable. Even when fully acclimated they're more orange finned than solid orange. Fortunately they're super cool even without much color. These are true freshwater gobies. They come from fast-flowing rocky streams, and climb around on the rocks. They'll climb out of your tanks too so make sure they have lids. They're algae scrapers with a long gut so make sure their diet is veggie based. They need super high oxygen content in their water so make sure they have lots of surface water movement.
Please give a call if you have any questions.
Thanks,

Tetras and Relatives
Bleeding hearts are back in stock from Colombia. Presumably from Peru via Colombia. They're not real big but they do have the characteristic red spot in their side. Red phantoms are also back in stock and super bright. Pretty good size for this fish as well. Also got more gold tetras. I still have some rainbow emperor tetras, ruby tetras, and a few green neons as well.
For bigger fish, red hooks are back in stock. They're smaller than what I usually see but they look great.
Lots of fun Indo and Singapore farm fish this week. Got in nice size green fire tetras, much nicer than the last several batches. You can tell that they're actually green, and they are showing a lot of red in the fins already. Ember tetras are a little small but they're on special for cheap. Black phantoms are still bit and look fantastic. Black palmeri emperor tetras are very nice too. Balloon red-eyes are ridiculous looking but they'll sell well. Tank-raised hujeta 'rocket gar' are really neat and super hardy.
Some of my Florida farm fish that look good include longfin blushing white skirts, serpaes, longfin serpaes, red-eyes, x-ray tetras, gold pristellas, and penguin tetras. All the neons are pretty good size but the jumbos are huge, worth the higher price.

Barbs, Danios & Relatives
Emerald dwarf rasboras are in from Indo. This is a galaxy rasbora relative, and pretty similar in all aspects other than color. They're closely related enough that they'll hybridize in tanks. This batch is a lot bigger than the galaxy rasboras that I've been getting, and also they're available (galaxy rasboras are very limited right now). They bigger fish are just starting to show color, nice bluish-green and orange stripes.
Asian rummynose are in stock again. They're small and probably the most silver fish I've ever had. They get nice bright red faces and red on the tips of the tail forks, but they're going to have to get bigger before that happens. This is one of the few hard water tiny cyprinids as they're originally from Lake Inle.
Kubotai rasboras also came in this week. They look terrible in the pic below; I share pictures like these because I don't want you to have unreasonable expectations based on what Google Images shows you. But it won't take long before these fish are neon green. They are tiny so they'll get lost in a community tank, but they do fantastic in nano tanks.
Some other imports that look good include red panda barbs, gold neon rosys, and new green tiger barbs. The green tigers are small but have good color.
Florida tiger barbs got a fair bit bigger this week. Even the regulars are decent size, a lot bigger than the import greens and albinos. Black ruby barbs continue to look fantastic. There's plenty of fully colored males in the tank. Veil and albino cherry barbs got smaller this week. Regular cherry barbs got a lot smaller. Longfin zebra danios, giant danios, and scissortails all look pretty good.
Rainbow dace may be the best looking domestic cyprind here. They're good size with lots of colored up males. These are US natives, and work in a cool water tank, or in a pond or garden tub.

Real light on swordtails today. The import all-male swords are still here and look good. Domestic brick swords still look great. Hopefully have more next week.
White dumbo guppies look great. They're more black and white than just white, like a true panda dumbo guppy. Some other nice guppies include copper dumbos, red dragon dumbos, platinums, pink tux, and lemons.
Red tiger plateis came in this week. Always one of the nicest and most popular varieties. Bumble bee platies are very nice too.
I'm back in stock with gold sailfin and green sailfin mollies. Both of them look great. Good size and the males are fired up and courting all the time. Black lyretail sphenops and gold sphenops look good too.

New World Cichlids
Most of my exciting American cichlids are Asian imports this week. I have new chili red oscars. A selectively bred super high red variety, they look better than my camera pic shows below. I also have new longfin oscars too. And I restocked on standard oscars earlier this week. Should have pretty good availability on the small (around 2"), limited availability on the mediums (around 3").
Got a new batch of Bulgarian green sealpoint angels. This is a fantastic strain with a solid greenish body and black fins. These are Indo fish. They generally hold up really well, but I always advise against mixing angels from multiple sources. The rest of my angels are domestic so I'd keep them in separate systems if possible.
Tank-raised uaru are also in from Indo. They're undersized for a 'large' but they look pretty good. Transitioning away from their juvenile spotted pattern.
New Bolivian rams are pretty good size and showing nice color. Also have plenty of import electric blue rams.
Florida black rams are back in stock. Not quite as black as they used to be, they're more like really really dark blue German blues. The medium German blue rams are still available and they look great, worth the higher price. Gold rams look good too.
Green terrors are still in stock. Small but showing decent color. Firemouths, jacks, convicts and pink convicts all look pretty good. None of them are big or outstanding but they're all acceptable. 3" heckeli are very nice. Might have some bigger heckeli early next week. Still have, I think, one big sagittae, three umbees, a big istlanum, and a big longimanus.
Florida-collected Mayan cichlids are very nice. Not quite as bright as the true red terrors but also a lot less murderous.
Wild Colombian pikes came in very nice size. They're pretty much all belly crawler types this time. I still have three or four big impressive parrot cichlids too.

The albino sunshine peacocks that came in Monday are about my only new African this week. They look great, very yellow and they have blue faces. They're brighter (and a little less common) than the dragonblood/red fire types. Still have a handful of large mixed peacocks (or pea-haps) too, and a couple gorgeous butterfly OB peacocks with crazy long fins.
For haps, I still have huge and crazy impressive 'red-stratus' hybrids. So nice I sent one of these to the ACA for their auction and I can't wait to hear that I'm worse than Satan because of my hybrid fish (kind of joking, only some of the folks there would say that). The hybrid jungle haps look fantastic. Very unique pattern, bright color, and long fins.
Sticking with hybrids, my pink and baby blue bubblegum OB socos are super nice. They're on special this week so you can try them out for a little less than list prices. Albino zebras, avanti yellow-tail zebras, snow white socos, and cobalt zebras all look good too.
I do have some nice pure Vics. The fired up males in the Uganda fire haps are gorgeous. Black velvets are nearly all males and very nice. Got in some new albino Kyoga flameback, a Victorian where the females aren't silver.
Still have a handful of Tanganyikans in house. Gombi transcriptus look great, pretty good size compared to the imports. Maswa duboisi are huge, should be listed as jumbos in comparison to the 3/4" import Tropheus I see.

Restocked on new Colombian zebras and Colombian snowballs this week. The zebras are pretty good size, snowballs are a little smaller but still look good. Got in a bunch of new green phantoms on top of the ones that have been here a few weeks so they're on special this week. Still have some small blue phantoms, a few small Colombian orange seams, and three or four L91 beacon plecos.
Not sure what I'll fill on cories next week. No order last week, and a lot of times they have to sit a week here before I'm comfortable shipping them. If they're stable than I should have plenty of nice punctatus, and a few metae. Got some new arcuatus too but the size very small, about a third the size of the last batch. I do have nice tank-raised sterbai cories available, and the albino cories are getting a little bigger.
Four-line pims are back in stock. They're big, a lot bigger than the spotted pictus. And not very striped. They'll probably sell better as reticulated pims or something like that.
BB cats are in stock and on special. They're all over the place on size. A few a little bigger than the one in the pic below, a few a lot smaller.
Some other import catfish that look good include banjo cats, pictus (they are small but nice), chameleon whiptails, spotted shovelnose (these are the hybrid food fish, they'll get huge), and Burmese sun cats.
Got in more tank-raised albino hoplo cats. This batch is bigger than the last set, and showing a nice pearly sheen. These look like a tyrosinase + type of albino. They show a lot of pink and caramel colors, not a solid white fish.
Florida-bred upside down cats are in stock again. A little small but solid, and they always sell out in a hurry. Tank-raised Syno eupterus in all sizes are oversized.
Zodiac loaches are in from Singapore. Not exactly colorful, but they have a neat pattern. They stay small, are pretty social, and do fine in a community tank. And they're not that expensive. Should be on all orders this week.
Still have a few robusta botias, lots of redtail botias, and probably have clown loaches for next week. Also restocked on Borneo suckers (kind of small) and Sewellia loaches.

Other Fish & Stuff
Fire eels are in from Indo. They're list 6-7", but there's a few undersized, and a few oversized. They're showing pretty good red color already.
Ossa knives are in from Colombia. These are bizarre trumpet-faced knife fish. Unlike the brown or black ghosts, they get along fine together. They're pretty good size now, but they'll get a bit longer and a lot stockier. They spend nearly all of their time laying on the bottom so you'll get to interact with your customers when they tell you that the knifefish are dead. In the wild they'd be buried in sand, and they'll prefer that if you can provide a sand substrate. They usually take to frozen bloodworms or similar foods in a hurry.
Transparent knives are also in stock. This is a much more active species, and they're social. They prefer to live in groups. They are predatory, but tend to ignore tankmates that don't fit in their mouth. Also got in more brown ghost knives.
Turquoise rainbows are in stock again. They're a little bigger than what I've had recently. I wouldn't call them full color, but they look pretty good. Boesmanis are about the same, not huge showing pretty good color. Kamaka rainbows look good too.
Import red paradise look fantastic, kinda surprised they're not selling faster. Florida bred albino paradise are a bit small but the bigger fish in the tank have nice red bars already. Blue gouramis are a bit small. I have lavender gouramis but they look like lavender gouramis, you probably don't want these. Florida-bred Red/gold honey gouramis are in stock. Very small and not that colorful yet, they'll look good when they're a little bigger. Honey gouramis are one of the best choices for smaller tanks. They stay smaller than the dwarf gouramis and they're a lot more laid back.
Some other odds and ends that look good include figure-8 puffers, arrowhead puffers, 5" silver arowanas, Asian needle gar, tank-raised gardneri killis, rhino gobies, gorgeous peacock gudgeons, and humphead glassfish.
Great week for shrimp. I got a bunch of Indo shrimp and Singapore shrimp. Red crystals are the nicest ones. Good size with very bright red and white banded pattern. Black bee shrimp are my favorite. I'm not sure the name is correct as they're clearly not black and white banded. I'm not a shrimp snob but I think these would probably be considered less desirable. But I love the unique busy pattern. The pic doesn't do a great job of capturing it but you can see black, orange and white in their pattern. Should call them calico shrimp. Red fires, orange cherry, red rilis, and black cocos are nice as well. The deluxe mix looks good too.

Effective February 1, 2019 Pictures for freshwater DOA claims are REQUIRED. DOA credits will no longer be approved if there are not accompanying pictures. This is to see the bag sizes, water quality at arrival, if heat/ice packs are present, etc.
Just snap a picture of the bag with your cell phone as you're putting the bags in the tank to float and that will work and should only take literally 10 seconds per bag that contains losses. These will help us to figure out why they arrived DOA and how to prevent it in the future. It is preferred that you email the pictures to your rep, but you can also text them into your rep as well. Thank you for your understanding and assistance.
SALTWATER DOA POLICY: All Saltwater DOA need a clear picture of the fish out of the bag on a cooler lid from your shipment and emailed to your sales rep the day or day after your shipment arrives. Any fish lost in shipment will be credited if you follow that easy instruction. Fish that die overnight are not creditable unless they arrive in very rough condition (basically dead) and you notify us of the condition with a clear picture of the issue the day it arrives.
