    News & New Items
    Hey Everyone,

First and foremost, we need to talk about the schedule for this upcoming week.  4th of July lands on Thursday, and UPS is closed (as well as most cargo facilities) so we can not ship anything to arrive on the 4th.  We also can't pack and ship out anything on the 4th to arrive on the 5th.  So that means this week here are your order options:

    1.  Place order by 9:00 Monday morning (any time over the weekend is fine too via email/website) to have the order packed Monday and arrive Tuesday
    2.  Place your order between 9AM and 5PM Monday for us to pack that on Tuesday for arrival Wednesday.

That's it.  We need to enter your order either first thing when we get here monday morning to pack monday, or we need to enter it while we're open on Monday to pack Tuesday.  If you miss the deadline and don't order on Monday, you're not going to be able to get fish this week, unfortunately.  There will be no way to make an exception to add on Tuesday morning to pack Tuesday, it's going to be an absolute madhouse here cramming a weeks worth of packing into 2 days, so we absolutely must have your order Monday to pack Tuesday..  We will also be closed on Thursday as well as Friday here, so that means the updated stocklist is going out on Wednesday the 3rd for orders the week of the 7th.

Also, important update about the stocklist:  We completely revamped our list and made a lot of improvements.   It should be a little easier to find stuff now.  We added a few extra sections (like splitting victorian haps and malawi haps) and also cleaned it up a bit so that the different sizes of stuff is in the correct order.  This should make ordering from us a little bit easier for everybody going forward.

Now, with that out of the way, lets talk about some fish.

We got a large restock shipment from Colombia again this week with all the catfish (including cory) that everyone always needs as well as some plecos, and even a few oddballs like more large Flagtail Prochilodus and Red Hooks.

From local breeders we picked up a handful of exceptionally nice large EB Acaras (pictured above) that everybody should be excited about.  These are one of the best looking fish in the industry.  Max size is around 7-8 inches, and they're pretty chill as far as Central American cichlids go.  They will eat smaller tankmates like neon tetras, but they usually seem to get along reasonably well with other like-sized tankmates.

This week we also got a pretty large shipment of various types of fancy shrimp for the first time in a while.  Lately I think we've been averaging about 4 different colors/types on the list for the week, but right now we have close to double that.  The Red Crystals have had a price drop so those look great and are also a great price now.  The new Pinnochio's are pretty cool and a very different look compared to the other shrimp too.

If you have any questions give us a call.

    Tetras & Other Characins
I feel like I'm beating a dead horse here but my job as a sales rep is literally to represent to my customers what looks best here so you can make an informed decision....and that means telling you that the orange Von Rios are the best looking tetra by a long shot.  Color is super super bright orange and red, no brown on the fish at all.  They're seriously impressive.  Every order should have them on it.

Other tetra standouts include the Serpaes (both long and normal fin varieties), big Diamonds, outstanding Black Phantoms, and huge Jumbo Neons.  Also the new batch of male Congo Tetras is fantastic, really good color on these (pic below).

    Rummynose Tetra
    Black Phantom Tetra

I have no clue how these exceptional Sailfin Tetras are still in stock.

    Barbs & Other Cyprinids
Gold Barbs are running large and have been holding up great for the last couple weeks too.  Definitely a top pick for barbs when they're running nice like they are now.  Rosy barbs are also looking really good, and the two of those would make a great display with contrasting color.

Snakeskin barbs came in from Indo this week at a great size.  These are a criminally underrated barb.  They're not very aggressive, get larger than a lot of the more common barbs, and they look very cool.

Rasbora Hets also look really nice if you want something a little different for small schooling fish.  Rasboras school a lot tighter than most species of tetras, which really are more of a "shoaling" fish than a "schooling" fish.  Some of the coolest looking tanks i've ever seen in person were large planted tanks with a school of 100 rasbora hets in it moving in unison following the leader.

    Livebearers
Platies had a solid revamp this week, with a lot of new colors coming back in that were out last week, and a lot of the restocks came in a little nicer than previous.  The XL are back in stock, and are the definitely standout and worth the extra money.  Redtail Black Variatus came back in and look phenominal.  Gold twin bar are back after several weeks of being out, and are the largest of the regular sized platies to boot.

Swordtails have a few colors looking good this week, including the greens which have the really cool speckling on the sides of the males.  Still not a ton of males in the koi, but the color is great and size is above average. Pineapple Wag and Neons are also solid choices with good color.

Every color of LG Sailfin Molly is back in stock and looks to be male-heavy.  I would recommend buying a handful of the individual colors rather than the assortment since the assortment doesn't have any Gold in the mix.

    New World Cichlids
You can definitely tell summer is in full swing. It's been in the 90s for over a month and with those high temps everything is growing like a weed. Angels are no exception. almost every variety is running over size especially the large. Some of the biggest I've ever seen especially the large black angels. These things are monsters!

Another good week for Discus. More variety than we've had in a while and with as hot as it's been here they're holding up great. All are looking good but the "Leopard" (more like a snakeskin) are the nicest.

We mentioned these last week but the 4" Cubans are fantastic. Great contrast on these. Another one that I'm amazed is still here are the medium Green Terrors. These have been in really short supply in any size for months. Not only is the size good but really nice color as well. Stock up while you can because these are sure to run out.

One of the best value fish here are the medium Green Umbi. As you'll see in the pic below these are more like a large than a medium. They're starting to show nice color and their fins are intact as well since have them in individual tanks. Also a great value are the Fenestratus. Again it's an oversized medium and we're down to about ten pieces. When they grow up they make a fantastic show fish.

The 5" Managuense sold out in a hurry but trying to get more in. we do still have the regular in stock and while the size is average they have a really nice green sheen to them. These are fast growers and will be terrorizing their tankmates in no time.
"Red Pearl" Flowerhorns.  List says 4 inch, they're more like 3.5-4 but look fantastic

    Old World Cichlids
Keep getting in nice Florida raised cichlids every week. The most impressive continue to be all of the O.B. haps/peacocks. We're down to five pieces on the O.B. Red Stratus. Yes they are hybrids, however these sell really really well. While your die hard hobbyists are not big fans of these anyone looking for a nice, colorful fish will definitely appreciate these. Another really nice peacock to come in this week are the Albino Red Fire. This is a really neat strain that comes in from a local supplier. The color is fantastic at 3.5" and they are only going to get better as they grow.

Since it's summertime and everything growing at lightspeed just about everything is oversized. That includes most of the Mbuna. The Auratus, Ornatus (aka Bumble Bee) & O.B. Red Zebra are all very nice. And while we mentioned them last we the medium fancy mix Mbuna continue to be the nicest assortment of any fish here on the farm.

Value picks for the week are going to be the medium Hap Moori and the Rock Kribs. Really nice size and color for the money.

    Catfish and Loaches
There's no end of fish to point out in this category right now, thankfully.  It's been a rough last couple of months with Colombia being almost entirely shut down to collection, but now that the flow has opened back up there are finally several wild cory catfish available at the same time this week!  Punctatus, Brochis, Agassizzi, and Skunks are all looking solid and size is more than solid on all of them.  For my money, I like the Agassizzi most, they have a little bit of greenish color on top while also having the nice speckled look of a julii that most customers seem to like.  The Brochis are gigantic and very bright green (sometimes traded as "Emerald cory cat").

Other catfish that got restocked from Colombia involve all the staples like Otocinculus, Pictus cats (both types), Raphael Cats (both types), and Farlowellas.  I don't need to say much about these, you know you need them.

For plecos we got a lot of green phantoms to buffer the numbers we already had, as well as a restock on the small sized Royals that had ran out last week.  Colombian snowball and zebras are both plentiful as well.
    Yo-Yo Loaches got bigger
    Royal pleco
    Pygmy Cory
    Green phantom LG look great
    Colombian Snowball
Pictus restocked, both spotted and 4 line

    Other Fish & Stuff
I can't believe last week we totally forgot to mention the Samurai Gouramis!  They're here for the first time in months, and color is perfect.  These are an awesome oddball gourami that doesn't get too large, and have exceptional color.  The cool thing is that the females are actually the ones that have all the color, and the males are a little smaller with less red on them.  This is perfect for keeping them in a group, you can have lots of the nice colorful ones without worrying about male on male aggression.

Kissing gourami are another one we just got back this week, and I think it's been a solid 6 months or longer since we've had this fish.  They used to be a common thing that was always available and were always popular, but availability has just dropped off the face of a cliff on these lately with the Florida farmers we deal with.  it's nice to have them back.  The "kissing" that they do is actually fighting....but they don't seem to hurt each other and customers think it's cute, so they're great to carry.

For oddballs we have a decent selection of cool stuff, including some 7 inch Asian Needle Gar, Green Scats, and Mono Argentus.  Rocket gar are restocked too, and are a great size of about 3 inches again.  Big enough to eat live guppies no problem.

    Gold Gourami
Pink Kissers back!  5 years ago I never would have guessed Kissing Gouramis would be a fish that would ever not be avilable, but they're back for the first time in 6 months or so now.

    Shrimp, Snails & Other Inverts
Lots of FL-Raised mystery snails are in stock, all running really nice size.  I think every color possible is currently in stock.

Shrimp, as alluded to in the Introduction, are also here with a big restock.  Black Coco are one we haven't had in a long time so I'm sure they'll go quick.  Bloody Mary and Red Cherry both look great, the former is a darker red color and the latter are brighter.

Hermit and Red Crabs are both in stock, and the hermits range from "acceptable" to "gigantic".
Red Cherry Shrimp are nice red color this batch
    Ivory Mystery Snails running large
Red Crystal Shrimp are fairly high grade right now

    Saltwater Corals
The Saltwater stock-list gets sent out on MONDAY afternoon.

In saltwater, we offer tons of top-of-the-line corals.  If you need really nice frags to sell for $10-15, we've got you covered.  If you want a $400 show piece unique Australian brain corals, we've got that too.  Tons of the coral frags are aquacultured in-house and are named lineage pieces of various SPS and LPS.  Import frags that are MADE in-house are also available, and are great options to get slightly bigger pieces that customers want like torches, hammers, blastos, acans, zoas, etc.
