Hey Folks,
In the middle of two plus weeks of hot weather here so I guess it's officially summer in Florida. It'll be hot and humid for the next six months, but on the bright side that means the fish will be growing faster. So hopefully I'll be back in stock on GloFish® pristellas soon.
Got some fun Florida fish coming in over the weekend but my new fish for this week are all imports. Got in shipments from Sri Lanka, Singapore, Bangkok and Singapore. Colombian availability has been pretty bad so all of my South American imports are from previous weeks.
It's pond season so we're bringing back our drop-ship koi program. We only have so much space for inventory, and in years past there are weeks where we don't have enough koi here to fill all the orders. Not an issue in December but as we're getting in to warmer months you all are likely to sell a lot of koi. If you do well with water gardens it's a good way to offset the summer slowdown that isn't too far down the road. We're able to offer a higher grade of koi than we normally inventory, as well as bigger sizes of koi, and some specialty colors. In addition we can offer bigger fantails, shubunkins and sarasa comets. These ship separate from your tropicals, and will be shipped UPS next day air to your door.
Sky blue tetras are in stock as tank-raised fish from Indonesia. They are blue, which is a very uncommon color to find in ornamental fish other than Cosmic Blue® GloFish®. As you can see from the picture, it's a much lighter blue and gives them a very unique appearance. They are super active, almost danio-like. They don't get too big, are peaceful, and aren't too expensive.
Emerald-eye rasboras came in from Indo last week and after settling in for a week they're looking pretty good. They look terrible in my picture below but they look pretty good in my old stock pic and they'll look great in your tanks. This is a very small species with an that practically glow when they're under proper lighting. They display best in dark tank, with dark gravel and spot lighting. A big school of these fish is very impressive.
Thanks to everyone that joined the Pet Advocacy Network webinar on Wednesday. Even more thanks if you joined, or donated to the Aquatics Fund. If you haven't donated yet there's link in my signature below.

Plenty of Florida fish got bigger this week. Orange von rios, diamonds, and black phantoms are all big and outstanding. Colombians, longfin black skirts, albino silvertips, black neons, serpaes, and longfin serpaes are all very nice too.
Import green fire tetras got a little bigger this week and they have a lot more color. Rosy tetras are small but showing good color in the fins. Ember tetras are pretty good size. Penguins are great size. Still have tiny balloon penguins, small black emperors, and good size balloon red eyes.
Wild tetra selection consists of gold tetras (nice size) and green neons (very small). |

Florida albino veil-tail cherry barbs are back in stock and look great. Rosy barbs are nice size with pretty males but still at least 50% female. Black ruby barbs got even smaller. Large tiger barbs are available and well worth the higher price. Pretty sure the albino and green tiger barbs are Florida fish this week. They're small but doing well. Brilliant rasboras, giant danios, zebra danios, and assorted longfin danios are nice too.
Drapefin barbs are still in stock, probably because last week's picture sucked. I have a better picture, and I have them on special this week. This is a small and peaceful species, very rasbora-like. Also have snakeskin barbs in stock, another peaceful species that's bigger and more colorful than the drapefins. Red panda barbs are big enough to show color, and a a few of them getting reddish. Some other far-east import cyprinids that stand out include gold neon rosy barbs, gold white clouds, tinfoil barbs, and gold tinfoil barbs. |

Best swordtail list is going to sound just like last week. Pineapple wags, red tux, pineapples, and green pineapples in that order. These are all big and bright, and mostly Florida fish. Sanke swords are pretty but they're half the size of the other types.
Lots of nice platies in stock this week. Assorted XL are the best value, they are huge. The regular size assorted is pretty good size too and a nice mix of color. Some of the individual types that stand out include candy cane mickeys, sunset mickeys, sunsets, and yellow calicos. Skip the bumblebees, they're the worst ones I've ever seen.
Best guppies today include red and green dragon dumbos, tricolor dumbos, midnights, blue Moscows, and yellow tux. |

Medium salvinis are in this week. They're 3"+ with the biggest ones showing good color. Also have red devils in the same size with great color, very splotchy. Melanura aka Belize rainbow synspilum are almost as big and priced as a 'regular' size.
Firemouths have been in stock most days, and I'm expecting more Jacks on Monday. Continuing to fill all the orders for convicts and pink convicts.
2" heckeli got a little bigger this week. They're already showing nice rows of pearly spots.
For less common fish, I still have red dovii on the brink of peeling, haitiensis that had a big price drop this week (on the specials page), beani, giant fenestratus, and a few spectabilis.
Nice variety of far-east cichlids too. Restocked on a bunch of discus. Red turqs look pretty good, red pigeons are nice but I don't see any pigeon pattern on them, and the assortment is very nice.
Big hump flowerhorns are still on special and they're still awesome. Two pieces, the smaller is 6" plus with a giant hump, the bigger one is 8"+ and crazy bright red. Ask for pics. Or look at last week's email. Small flowerhorns are running big and showing great color.
Lemon oscars are smaller than usual but they have pretty good color.
EB jacks are small but with great color. EB rams are a little bigger this week and look fantastic. |

Lots of amazing fish in the is category most of which can be described as OB fish. All hybrids and all awesome, they're big and bright. Florida-raised fish that are selectively bred for the insane color and pattern, these are not hormone fed imports. Most of the larges and mediums are interchangeable in size but the large jungle haps and XL 'peacocks' are bigger than the other varieties. Lwandas, butterfly OB, and OB red empress are all spectacular but you can't go wrong with any of them.
Regular ahlis are still coming in with great color. Another Florida fish, if I didn't know that I'd guess they were juiced. There are 3" males in full color in this 'regular' size. They are mixed sex so don't expect them to all have color. Medium moori have great color too, although they're not as bright as the ahlis. They will get a dumb hump on their head when they grow up.
Pearl zebras are back in stock. They're a bit oversized with a beautiful pale blue sheen over the whole body. Other mbunas that look good include medium fancy mix, regular and medium EB johannis, yellow labs (on sale), acei, albino auratus, socos, and lavender albino OB zebras. |

I might have glass cats available this week. I have them today and hopefully will still have some to ship Monday. When they're stable these are neat fish, among the most transparent fish you can find. They don't get big, they're peaceful, and they're out during the day. Very unlike most other catfish.
South American imports are getting very limited. I do still have a decent number of bright green/yellow L200 green phantoms. Lots of Colombian snowballs this week, and pretty good numbers of Colombian zebras. I'm getting low on the galaxias/toothnose/vampire plecos, and they're on sale this week.
A few other import catfish that look good include spotted and striped raphaels, and four-line pims.
Pretty much nothing for wild cories other than a few Brochis cats. If you need cories go with the tank-raised sterbai. I'll probably have limited numbers of albinos, greens, palaetus and pandas.
Still have lots of nice tank-raised Synos. Angelicus/Eupterus are running oversized and gorgeous. 1.5" jaguars are close to twice list size. If you want bigger Synos I've got plenty of feathefin eupterus in about any size you could want.
Tank-raised bushynose are mostly tiny (like usual) but there's a few types that stick out. 1-1.5" list size bushynose are at the high end of that range, some of them even bigger. Pretty sure I still have some 3" tank-raised bushynose, and I know I still have super impressive large albino bushynose.
Your best and only options for loaches are tiger botias, dojos, and black kuhli loaches. |

Still have sparkling gouramis this week, although I expect they'll run out early. Small, peaceful, cheap and colorful, it's rare to get all of that in one fish. Also have import gold honeys and a couple dozen big red honey gouramis. Florida-bred blues, golds, and opaline gouramis are all very nice, but pearls are pretty crappy. Albino paradise are nice size. Red paradise are good size too and super bright.
Best rainbows this week are the medium turqs and yellows, and they're both on sale this week. Large Deepwater Creek are gorgeous too. Try selling them as firefin rainbows. Emeralds, Goyder Rivers, and crimson-spots are all good. Praecox are very small, and the regular size boesmanis are small too.
Back in stock with medium peacock gudgeons. They are still huge with amazing color. Probably the last ones I'll see for a while so get them while you can.
Tank-raised panda garras got a lot bigger. They're not big but they're twice the size they usually come in.
Alien bettas came in with multiple colors. You can pick from blue, green, silver/copper, and there were a few with some red.
Various other odds and ends that look good include tophat blennies, figure-8 puffers, dwarf puffers, delhezi bichirs, albino bichirs, brown ghost knives, and Florida flagfish. |

Horned nerite snails are in stock this week. They're tiny but cheap and I'm sure they're going to sell out in a hurry.
Lots of orange rabbit snails in stock. These almost never go on sale but I'm overstocked right now. I also have a mixed rabbit snail that includes some orange rabbit snails, a few whites (I think) and a bunch of Faunus snails which are rabbit snail like but with smooth shells.
Getting just about all the Florida mystery snails right now. Blues are probably the best, but golds and ivories are pretty good size too.
Best shrimp in stock are blue shrimp. They're also the only shrimp in stock. Expecting more for the Monday email. |

The Saltwater stock-list gets sent out on MONDAY afternoon.
In saltwater, we offer tons of top-of-the-line corals. If you need really nice frags to sell for $10-15, we've got you covered. If you want a $400 show piece unique Australian brain corals, we've got that too. Tons of the coral frags are aquacultured in-house and are named lineage pieces of various SPS and LPS. Import frags that are MADE in-house are also available, and are great options to get slightly bigger pieces that customers want like torches, hammers, blastos, acans, zoas, etc. |
