Hey Folks,
It's feeling a lot like springtime here and in a lot of other states so I'm pleasantly surprised at how busy it's been. Hoping the rest of March brings crappy weather to you northerners so we get a little longer busy season.
Incoming shipments this week included some nice variety from Indonesia and Singapore, and plenty of re-stock stuff from Colombia, Bangkok and Sri Lanka. Got a few new Florida fish this week including some really nice uncommon Central/South Americans.
I got in some of the most impressive krausi cichlids I've ever seen. This is a pretty obscure basketmouth cichlid originally from Colombia but these are Florida-bred fish. The genus Caquetaia also includes myersi and spectabilis, and I have gorgeous examples of all three now (although only the krausi are big). They're really nice fish that aren't crazy aggressive and moderate size, so I'm surprised they haven't sold better.
Burmese tire-track eels have been here for several weeks but they're on sale this week so they get a paragraph here up top. Eel taxonomy is goofy so I'm not sure about the species but it's definitely Mastacembelus and beyond that I'm not sure but dayi or something close to that is my best guess. I haven't seen them much over a foot long, and based on most of their relatives they're unlikely to get any bigger than two feet, probably less. Like other spiny eels, they're not aggressive but they are predatory on smaller fish and inverts. They typically convert to frozen/thawed foods pretty quickly, and will also eat pellets.
Sunset thicklip gouramis are in stock for the first time in years. This used to be a commonly raised Florida fish but no one raises this fish in Florida anymore. This group is from Indo. They have a bit of color but they're pretty far from full color. When they're mature they are beautiful, and I included an old pic below so you can see what they look like. They look a bit like honey gouramis but they get bigger, about the same size or a little bigger than a standard dwarf gourami. Temperament is similar to a dwarf gourami as well.
Please give a call if you have any questions.
Thanks,
Joe Hiduke Nautilus |

Another tiger basketmouth. You're more likely to get one like this, but same bloodlines so they should color up as much as the guy up top. |

Florida-bred longfin serpaes are in stock for the first time in months. They're not that big but they already have pretty long fins. The color is really nice. Also back in stock with orange von rios that aren't crappy. These are big and beautiful, way nicer than what I've been getting lately. Some other Florida fish that look good include pastel gold neons, glowlights, diamond tetras, red-eyes, and huge longfin black skirts.
Indo's in again this week with some nice far-east farm stuff. Glass bloodfins aren't real big but they mostly have nice red tails. Underrated fish that's really active, pretty, cheap, and less nippy than a standard bloodfin. Emperor tetras came in bigger this week. Not big, but big enough that they look really good. Blue kerris are very nice too. Green fire tetra are a bit small but they have good color.
Nothing new for wild characins but I still have plenty of nice gold tetra, small red phantoms with some color, and green neons. The green neons are tiny, about as small as I've seen them come in. Bleeding hearts are very nice, list size is medium but they're as big as the larges I had recently. For bigger fish, the flagtail Prochs are great size with some orange in the fins. Still have pacus that you shouldn't buy but you probably will. They're well started and are just going to keep getting bigger. |

Last week saw the return of albino cherry barbs (I'm still getting them), and this week I have albino veiltail cherry barbs. They're decent size, big enough to clearly see the veil tails. Not so big that they're full of all-red males, but they're on their way. Regular cherry barbs are imports and terrible, skip them.
Rosy barbs are mixed sex but good size. The males look great, but they're at best 50/50 male/female so lots of brassy fish in the tanks. Red glass are a much better choice, still big and crazy bright and nearly all male. Black ruby barbs got a tiny bit bigger and the biggest males are already outstanding. Odessas are here but they are zero color so you probably don't want them.
Import Asian rummynose came in even bigger and brighter. They aren't crazy bright but when they're showing any red like these are it's a good indication that they'll fire up even brighter in your tanks. Some other far-east fish that look good include platinum green tiger barbs, snakeskin barbs, roseline sharks, and tinfoil barbs if you need big silver fish. |

All of my swords are imports right now but the size is decent. Neons actually have some males. Pineapples are very nice. Painted swords are pretty but nearly all female. Skip the velvets and velvet wags, their color is mediocre and they're nearly all female. The fancy vampires and firecrackers look awesome like they usually do.
Candy cane mickey mouse platies are outstanding. They're not big but they are colorful and look great. Dawn platies still look good too. Bumblebees are small but always sell well. Sunset mickeys, sunsets, painted and red wag platies are all nice too.
Best guppies this week are the coral reds. They don't have a big tail but the color is great. Like a pink and red tequila. Lemons, tequilas, turquoise blue tails, and green cobras look good too.
Best mollies are the large gold sailfins. For small and cheaper mollies, the gold panda lyretails are good size and very pretty. I'm out of the XL balloon mollies, but the regular size is very nice right now with some lyretails mixed in. |

Large gold angels are on sale this week. Good size and pretty. The large black angels are amazing and great value. The fancy mix select is on sale too. These are all Florida-bred fish and hold up well.
Got in more fancy New World fish this week. Deppii are my favorite right now. They're a Texas relative, but stay smaller and get nice orange spots. They're also jerks. These are about a million times more aggressive than a standard Texas or carpintis. I also have limited numbers of nice size green umbees, and gigantic 'medium' fenestratus. They're roughly 4-6", some even bigger than that. Lots of nice small bifasciatus that will have a special price on Monday, and well started melanura aka Belize synspilum with great color even at ~3". Also have very limited numbers (as in one or two) of large hartwegi, zonatus, labiatus, dovii, sagittae, and gorgeous istlanum.
If you need cheap common fish, I have small Texas cichlids. Black and pink convicts are both great size and cheap, but they're still convicts. And also about the only cheap cichlids around right now.
Plenty of nice balloon rams in stock right now. They're hideous and adorable and everyone loves them. Bolivian rams are nice size with good color. |

Still have a ton of great looking Africans in stock right now.
The common mbunas are mostly running big right now. Cobalt zebras, OB zebras, snow white socos, EB johannis, chipokae are all nice size. Labeo fueleborni are way oversized and starting to get splotchy. Albino OB zebra are small but look great, a nice lavender OB type. Still have some great looking jewel-spot elongatus too.
Still have most of my specialty peacocks including Ngaras, Bengas, Marleri Islands, and caramel albino flavescents. For bigger fish, the albino sunshines are gorgeous, and the large OB peacocks are amazing. Still have a few of the XL assorted OB peacock/hap/pea-haps with insane color.
For actual Haps, the large male venustus look great, full color and great size. Large male rhoadesi and large male redfin borleyi look great too. For smaller fish, the albino comps are very nice, and the livingstoni are small but look good and haven't been easy to come by.
Leleupi are decent size and super bright. Flroida-bred and gorgeous. Brichardis are OK size and cheap (far-east fish).
Balloon jewels are still one of the most absurd looking fish here. They're bright red and round and look stupid but I can't believe they haven't sold out already. Your customers love stupid balloon fish. |

I have a new South American marbled bullhead. If you got them last week they were jelly cats, but they're becoming permanent residents here so trying a different name. They''re big and incredibly well established.
Still have some beautiful blue phantom plecos. Not big but with lots of color. Green phantoms are fantastic. The smalls that just came in are about the same size as the larges but they just got here so the color is way better in the larges. Still have plenty of royal plecos and Colombian snowballs and zebras too. Also have a few lingering flash plecos, large adonis, and LDA031 mustard spots.
Best cory cats this week are the gold/greens. OK size, very nice color. I'll probably fill metae bandit cories too. I have punctatus, ask on Monday how they're doing. Your best cory option are the far-east tank-bred sterbai. They're small but always hold up well.
Some other import catfish that look good include spotted and striped raphaels, farlowellas, chameleon whiptails, wild bushynose, rubber plecos, and Burmese sun cats. I have pictus cats but they're limited and really small right now.
Might have clown loaches this week in limited numbers. Should have plenty of tiger botias. Sewellia hillstream loaches are good size. |

All of the GloFish sharks are huge right now. I've had a 5" shark at a higher price in the past. Some of these are 4" and the same price as they were when they were 1.5". If you haven't had sharks in a while you need to; they're consistently big and exceptional.
I expected to run out of the ranchus early, but I ended up having a full vat that I missed last week. I did run through a ton so this week is almost certainly your last chance to get them.
Got in green scats this week. They're small but been here a week and are stable. Your other brackish options this week are spotted puffers, figure-8 puffers and archerfish that are also stable.
In stock with import red honey and gold honey gouramis. The red honeys are a fair bit bigger and brighter. The gold honeys will end up nice, but they're not real big right now. Florida blue gouramis and opaline gouramis are all decent size. Small for Florida or huge compared to imports, take your pick. Florida blue paradise are still huge and amazing. Albinos are a bit small but very pretty. Import red paradise are pretty.
Medium boesmanis are still gorgeous and the best looking rainbowfish here. And I have them on sale this week. Large Deepwater Creeks, medium turqs, and kamaka rainbows all look great too. Signifers are still super bright too, and big for a signifer.
Various other fish that look good include fire eels, albino bichirs, delhezi bichirs, gorgeous medium peacock gudgeon gobies, small gardneri killis, dwarf puffers, panda garras, and doctor fish. |

Assassin snails are back in stock. Still have orange rabbit snails, and maybe a few yellow-spot rabbit snails. May have limited numbers of hercules snails too. Plenty of striped nerites and black nerites, the best of all algae eaters.
For domestic snails, I have a nice mix, blues, ivories, and blacks.
Best shrimp this week are yellow fires. Red rilis look good too. Blue shrimp are small but look good. The deluxe mix is very nice. |

The Saltwater stock-list gets sent out on MONDAY afternoon.
In saltwater, we offer tons of top-of-the-line corals. If you need really nice frags to sell for $10-15, we've got you covered. If you want a $400 show piece unique Australian brain corals, we've got that too. Tons of the coral frags are aquacultured in-house and are named lineage pieces of various SPS and LPS. Import frags that are MADE in-house are also available, and are great options to get slightly bigger pieces that customers want like torches, hammers, blastos, acans, zoas, etc. |
