Halloween Vampire Crabs are back!  These cool looking orange and purple vampires are a little less common than some of the other colors we can get more frequently, and make a great addition for paludariums and bio-active terrariums with access to some shallow water.  (Vampire crabs are NOT fully aquatic)

    News & New Items
    Hey folks,

Well we got to experience fall for about five minutes down here but now it's back to summertime temps. But that's not a bad thing as far as the fish are concerned since that just helps keep the growth rates accelerated. Once more another great week of incoming but we're gonna switch things up a bit this week and start with Sri Lanka. We recently brought on a new supplier from there and so far they have been nothing but impressive. The Guppies coming out of there are outstanding. While I have some examples of choice picks down below there really isn't a bad one in house right now. We've even tried some new Endler's varieties including a Black Lyretail and what they're calling a Santa Clara type. No idea what that means but it looks more or less like a Green Tiger with a bit more of an ornate pattern to it. But the real show stopper on this shipment has to be the Leopard Molly. I've seen strains similar but this one really stands out. The pic down below really tells the story.

In other Asia news Rhino Gobies are back in stock for the first time in what feels like an eternity. So far the batch looks great and holding up really well. While this is a brackish species they tend to hold up fine as long as they are kept under hard water conditions with high pH. Blood Parrots finally got a much needed restock but there were only so may available so don't wait to long to order. 3" Clown Knives came in a bit oversize and have already traded in their juvenile stripes for adult spots. These tend to hold up really well once they've reached this size but you will still want to keep them well fed as the have the metabolism of a hummingbird. Both Gold and Gardneri Killies came in much bigger than average with super bright color. These will be an easier than usual sell especially with the Golds being on special this week. New Flowerhorns also came in at a good size with a handful of surprises in the mix, Thai Silks. Now we didn't buy them like this nor are we selling them under that moniker but if you do happen to get some in your order separate these out and mark them up. They are definitely worth more than the common mix. And rounding up the far east feast are the Ornate Bichirs. These came in really nice size once again almost guaranteeing they are going to fly out of here.

Colombia came in late last week so there were some items we didn't get a chance to include in the email. First are the Marble Hatchets. These have now had enough time to settle in that hey look about as sturdy as they ever do. These have a notorious reputation for not acclimating well but these are holding up great and are always in high demand. Farlowellas also managed to fly under the radar last week. Not huge numbers on the so order early if you need some. The medium Black Ghost Knives are nearly twice the size of the far east imports so definitely worth the extra money. And speaking of knives we also got in some Transparent. This time of year try marketing them as Invisible Phantom Knives, they'll sell better. Got both regular and medium BB Cats available. Go with the mediums, they're twice the size and on special. And last but definitely not least we have a super limited number of large and XL Royal Plecos. Based on availability looks like this is gonna be it for a while.

In addition to last week's Colombia shipment we just got another one in this week that we just finished unpacking. If you follow our socials keep an eye out at Liz and I will be going out later today to  film some of the new incoming items. Actually got a new fish on this order, Green Farlowella. These are a close relative of the common Farlowella most of you are accustomed to seeing but these stay a lot smaller, max size is around 3". As the name suggests these can get a green hue to them but for now they are very brown but nevertheless very cool looking. Name might confuse people into thinking these get a lot bigger so maybe call them Colombian Stickfish or something along those lines. No matter with name you go with these are gonna sell fast. Very unique and fairly inexpensive. Next on the order are the Striped Peacock Bass. Hard to tell which exact species these are but if I had to venture a guess I would say Temensis. Peacock Bass in general have been very difficult to come by this year so while this is a welcome addition I don't expect they'll be here for very long. For Something on the smaller and more peaceful end of the spectrum we got in Blue Flash Tetras. These almost look like Colombia's answer to Congo Tetras. Very iridescent but with a heavier emphasis on blue, so not exactly a clever name lol.

As I mentioned at the beginning of this monologue the one good thing abut the heat this time of year is it helps keep the fish growing like crazy so as you can imagine just about everything we have raised locally is well oversized. I mention Rainbows almost every week this time of year for a reason, don't think there's a bad one in the bunch. Even all of the Pseudomugils (dwarf/pygmy) types are running big. But if I had to pick just one I would recommend the Kamakas. These are outstanding. Great size and almost every male is sporting a silver blaze down the dorsal side. Assorted Swords are coming from a new(ish) source and while they are mostly brick/velvet types they are fat and gorgeous. Hard to go wrong with just about any of the select size Angels but this weeks winner is going to be the Koi. Heavy orange coverage on these making them look more like their namesake as opposed to the gold marbles they typically resemble. For Cichlids the must have go to this week are the medium assorted fancy Mbuna. Best bang for the buck. Lots of variety of "custom" morphs you're not gonna find anywhere else.

Blue Flash Tetras are one of the most impressive looking wild tetras we've had come in the doors in a while.  We got a very small batch of these a few months ago and they lasted about 10 minutes on Monday morning, so I expect they'll go quick again. Worth every penny.
Striped Peacock Bass look to be Temensis but can't be 100% sure at this size.  We did order them as Temensis but the collectors' ID abilities at this size are not perfect.
New Fish Alert!!! Green Farlowella! We have never had these before and while these are related to the more commonly available species these do not get anywhere near the same size. Average adults are around 3".
This is what the Green Farlowellas can look like once settled but they do not look like this currently
Silver Dollars are still running about the same as the last several months, a little over quarter size.
