    Hey folks,

We got some really exciting stuff for you all this week!  4-5 Inch Peacock bass are in from Colombia for the first time all year.  We don't have a ton, of course, we bought every one the vender had, but that's not a lot of fish.  Not sure the exact species, they're still a little too small to 100% positively I.D., but I would assume they're probably Ocellaris.  This is the perfect size, honestly, since they're big enough to already be pretty impressive and way past the "danger" stage of being young where they might randomly die still, but also small enough that they're not going to cost you $60.  The price is honestly probably a little too cheap, so they're going to sell too fast, so get your orders in ASAP if you want a few.

Last week we found out we got in some 15-16CM Oranda goldfish just in time to put them on our stock list, but we didn't get pictures of them or talk about them in the email at all, so today we have some pictures for you.  Check out the big black one up top, and we have a picture of the red ones further down below.  MOST are red and white.

We also got some other neat predatory stuff from Colombia this week in the form of some larger Tiger Shovelnose and Sabertooth Payaras!  We now have both medium and Large Sabertooths (....Saberteeth?  What's the right way to say that? lol)  in stock at the same time.  The larges are the much better buy, averaging an extra half inch or inch in size over the mediums on average.  We are putting the mediums on special to get the price down a little bit so that there's a little bit of incentive to help us clear back the last couple of those that are in stock leftover here.   have maybe 6 or 7 mediums still hanging around from last shipment.

August is almost here and that means SuperZoo is right around the corner. Been mentioning this for weeks now so if you haven't already booked your trip you're running out of time. If you've never attended I highly recommend checking it out. Vendors and manufacturers from all over the globe showing off the newest products and latest innovations in sales and marketing. Lots of great workshops and guest speakers worth attending. We'll be there with plenty of great fish on display so be sure to stop by and say hello. Hope to see you there!

Don't forget, we still have Tank-Raised Motoro Stingrays available!  Sold about half of them, so we might sell out this week if you've been thinking about it.

On the opposite end of the spectrum we got in what could quite possibly be the world's smallest Blue Tiger Parrots. Super small and super cute, like little swimming tiny gold balls. We also got restocks on some much needed Loaches including 4" Clowns, Sewellia Hillstreams and Redtail Blue Botias. We also got in a very impressive batch of 4-5" Spiny Eels with some oversized individuals in the mix. Amano Shrimp are in for the first time in at least a year. These have been very difficult to come by as we've been getting requests from all around the country for them. And last but never least we got in some great looking Discus from Singapore. 2.5" Leopards are my personal favorite.

In Florida raised fish we got some restocks on some old favorites including Rainbow Cichlids and regular Blue Acaras. These remind me of my early days of fish keeping. All we need to round this out would be some Keyholes and Egyptian Mouthbrooders lol. And as usual there's no shortage of great looking African Cichlids.  The real standouts are the large Assorted Male Haps. Some absolute show pieces in there. Be sure to check out the pics down below.

Peacock Bass are back and are the perfect size! Right around 5" so they should acclimate with ease. Without a doubt one of the fastest selling South American Cichlids we get in. These will be gone before we get more than a few meals in them so act quickly if you want a couple.
Sabertooths came in slightly larger than the last batch and are equally deserving of the name. Use caution when netting these toothy monsters. If they get caught in the net just leave them be, they can usually free themselves. I speak from experience when I say you do not want to get bit by one of these.
Definitely prefer wild Silver Dollars over the captive stains. These will typically show much better color as adults whereas most captive bred variants tend to be a bit washed out.
New Tiger Shovelnose are some of the nicest I've seen come through here. Around 6" with fantastic markings. This is another one that is sure to sell out in a hurry.
Royal Plecos might be some of the smallest I've ever seen but that just makes them that much more adorable. They look a miniature version of the adults complete in proportions. These will sell on cuteness factor alone.
    Asia Imports
Got a handful of Motoro Stingrays left and they look amazing. Settled in almost immediately and are eating ghost shrimp like champs. They're at the point where they'll start taking food right out of your hand. They don't get much better than this.
As I mentioned in the opening monologue the 15-16cm Orandas are some of the nicest I've ever seen. Color and conformation are about as good as it gets. Good goldfish have been extremely difficult to come by so don't miss out on these.
Got a restock on Electric Blue Rams this week and as the name suggests they are just that, electric. Super vibrant and they only just got here. Color gets even better as they settle in.
New Batch of Bangkok Flowerhorns are fantastic. Came in with more red than usual and a couple of them are already sporting streamers. These do best if you can keep them one per tank/cubicle, that way their fins remain intact.
Kyathit Danios are in for the first time in years. Also known as the Orange Finned Danio these guys can look very similar and are closely related to Zebra Danios. This is a highly variable species that can display either a highly ocellated or striped pattern. The one in the pic is very representative of what we currently have in stock. More striped with some aberrancy in the pattern. Fins are just starting to color up and will only get better with time.  The orange outline is at it's best looking in a planted tank contrasting with hte dark green.
Redtail Blue Botias are back for the first time in months. These are a great size at just over 3" and just like their Clown cousins do an excellent job of eradicating nuisance snails. They can be a little territorial and do well with larger, fast moving tankmates. Great scavenger for Cichlid tanks.
Sewellia loaches are back in stock and while a bit mixy in size are looking great so far. These are typically the Lineolata species which tends to be the most common and most popular due to is highly contrasted striped pattern. These do best in cooler, well oxygenated environments.
Fire eels are back in stock, roughly 5 inches.  Showing plenty of color, like usual.
4"-6" Zig Zag Eels are back and after trying get these to sit still for a pic I can tell you that the classification of "Spiny Eel" is well deserved. Little suckers actually drew a little bit of blood lol. That not withstanding these are one of the most popular Eels for a reason. When not being manhandled for a photo op they are relatively peaceful and one of the most affordable species out there.

Blue Paradise are in this week and they are absolutely perfect. There is quite a bit of variation from one strain to the next but these are text book examples of what they should look like. Great pattern with vibrant colors and great fin extensions.
Medium Kamaka Rainbows are back up to size with some males are ready starting to show their breeding coloration. One of the more underrated species due to the fact that it often gets overshadowed by their Turquoise cousins. I always stocked both in my stores and when these guys were showing off for the females in the tank they would actually outsell their arch rivals.
We might be out of larger Bosemani Rainbows at the moment, but that shouldn't make you sad, just get Yellows instead.  These have every bit as much color as Bosemani do, but are less popular for some reason.  Probably just because Petsmart decided to carry Bosemani and not yellows, if I had to guess.  But that's all the more reason for you TO carry yellows.
Madagascar Rainbows are as big and nice as I've ever seen them.  They're a smaller species, with a more slender body shape, very unique among all the rainbowfish species.
2" Albino Rainbows are the best looking shark in house this week. Due to high demand and limited availability most sharks have been running way undersize. However these are pretty much spot on and are the best bang for the buck.
New Chocolate Sharks are here for the first time ever!  As far as I know, this is the first offering of them in the country, the breeder just released them.  While not exactly earth shattering, at least it's something new.  It's basically just a rainbow shark that's got a slightly translucent body that makes them sort of appear a chocolatey brown color.  They're not on the list yet cause they just showed up today and we need to create a SKU in the system, but they'll be about the same price as a normal 2 inch rainbow shark.
    Tetras
Candy Canes are back! Been a while since we've had these in stock but well worth the wait. Size is pretty good and color is great. One of the most sought after Tetras with one of the most inconsistent availabilities. These are sure to sell out in a hurry and have no idea how long they'll be around for so don't wait on these.
Lemon Tetras are back.  I'm sure they'll be sold out by Tuesday, but they're here as of right now!
Glowlights are also running big this week. In fact these are some of the biggest I've seen all year. color is just starting to show and is sure to become vibrant as soon as they settle in over some darker colored gravel. Look best over black with a dark background.
Penguins are back in stock are running average in size. Although that doesn't seem to matter since so long as they're healthy these are always one of the top sellers and these are holding up great.
Like so many Tetras this time of year Embers are also running a bit over size (for their species). These make for a great addition to planted and/or nano tanks.
Got restocked with more Silver Hatchets this week from Colombia and so far so good. Should have plenty to go around for this all time favorite.
    Livebearers
    Red Rose Guppy
    Tricolor Dumbo Guppy
    Red Tux Guppy
    Pigeon Blood Guppy
    Redtail Crystal Platy
    XL Platy
    Hawaii Variatus
    Assorted Sword
    Dynamite Discus
    Leopard 2.5"
    Snakeskin 2.5"
    Assorted 2.5"
    Central/South American Cichlids
Still have a few 5" Dovii left but I do mean a few. This is one of if not the most impressive of the "Tank Busters". Although known for not playing well with others these make for fantastic display specimens.
Got two different sizes on Trimaca this week, 3" and 5". For those of you who are unfamiliar with these it is one of the species used to crate the ever popular Flowerhorn Cichlid. This is definitely where their aggressive nature comes from as these are one of the most territorial species out there. They do best when housed individually.

Curviceps are back!  One of my favorite smaller cichlid species.  They get nice attractive yellow fins and yellow faces.  Aggression isn't too bad, and they can be kept communally while you sell them, and they'll get along fine with larger tetras, livebearers, etc.
Albeit not technically a dwarf species Rainbow Cichlids might as well be. They tend to be relatively peaceful and do well with like sized tankmates. Very deserving of the name once they mature.
Old fashioned regular Blue Acaras are here for the first time in a year or so. As juveniles they look very similar to Green terrors due to the fact that they are close relatives. However unlike their aggressive cousin these stay much smaller and are rather docile. I actually prefer these to the now much more common EB Acara. More natural appearance with a subtle beauty to them.
    Old World Cichlids
Red Zebra Cichlids are still coming in extremely nice and actually close to red instead of the more typical light orange color.  Great time to grab them,
Electric Blue Johanni have been a staple for decades for good reason. One of the most attractive freshwater species money can buy.
Albino Red Peacocks are back in stock and this is a great batch with good average size.  Sometimes the medium male peacocks can be a little on the smaller side for the last several years, but these are like the "old" medium.
Assorted male medium peacocks have some excellent fish in the mix like this dragonblood variant.
Assorted Large Male Haps got a bit of a restock this week and as always there are some absolute gems in the mix like this Electric Blue Ahli. I'll put this up any saltwater fish any day of the week.
Another great specimen found in the above mentioned mix is this male Livingstoni. Granted they get rather large and are one of the more aggressive species of Hap, they make for stunning show pieces
Just like the above mentioned same goes for this male Venustus.  This one isn't even in full dominant coloration.
    Plecos & Pals
While the Large Albino Bushynose aren't the biggest we've ever had they are sporting a deep, rich almost tangerine color to them.
2" Bushynose aren't quite 2" however they are a much better choice over the 1" Bushys this week. Still pretty good value given the price point.
Paleatus Cories came in with some oversized individuals in the mix and are all looking fantastic. One of the best budget Cories you can get.
Agassizzi Cory used to be one of those "on the list every week" cories.  Lately they've been harder to come by, but they're back for this week!  Get them while you can!
