Hey Everyone,
I'm sure most of you are checking out this email because you're excited to get the newest GloFish®, the Starfire Red® Angels! We've had them in the packing room for the past week getting them acclimated in and ready for shipping, and I can confirm they look absolutely fantastic. I know we say this every time, but these are definitely the best looking GloFish® release of all time. It's also awesome that there's an option now for a larger centerpiece fish for GloFish®. Honestly they look just as good in a naturalistic planted tank under white lights as they do in an all GloFish® tank with neon plastic plants and blue lights. These will truly be a fish for everyone, and we're excited to be able to finally offer these for sale after teasing them for the better part of a year.
We will be limiting each store (to a reasonable amount) but we still expect to sell out of the allocated limit this week, so make sure to get your order in as early as possible.
In non Glo related news, we got a pretty exciting import shipment from Indonesia with multiple new species! We're always trying to look for new stuff to bring and keep things fresh, and just for transparency's-sake i'll let you know we ordered 10 new items and got 3 of them shipped to us. Fill rate issues aren't just an American supplier thing haha. But the halloween crab we got (a vampire type) is awesome and colorful, got a new barb we haven't had in years, and a new balloon gourami! Also from that shipment the galaxy rasboras came in huge, and we got restocked on Zhou gobies, this time with the option for you to specify if you want males or females on your order.
Also got a nice shipment from Colombia with a smaller (cheaper) size of red hook, some excellent flagtails in two sizes, and some nice catfish for your bread and butter import stuff.

We got Blue Tetras back in and *knock on wood* they're holding up great! These can be touchy shippers so a lot of times they arrive to us in rough shape, but this batch arrived fantastic, I don't think we had a single dead on them. Wonderful blue color on these.
Flagtail Prochs are restocked from Colombia, and we again got 2 sizes. The large are great and have the colorful tails already, about 4-5 inches. The small size is awesome for anyone looking for these but not wanting to spend quite as much on them if you have the patience to grow them out. They should grow pretty quick though in your customer's large tank.
For Florida-bred tetras that are looking good, you're spoiled for choice this week. The Black Phantoms are the best I've ever seen. Serpae (both types) are running large, Diamonds are a little mixy but there are plenty of really nice ones in there with big fins. Glow Lights are really large this week too for another great inexpensive tank filler. Jumbo sized neon tetras are on special this week, and every order should have them on it, frankly. These are fully grown neons. Huge. |

A few new barbs on the list this week, including all male longfin rosy, red glass, and five banded. The all male longfin rosy look really good, and they’re at the size that they’ll be super red as soon as they’re put into something other than a bare bottom tank. The red glass barbs aren’t as big as the rosy, but once they have a few more weeks of growth on them they’ll look stunning. Five banded barbs (Pentazona) are holding up well so far and are showing very nice distinct black vertical striations. Both types of veiled cherry barbs (albino and regular) are tied for best cherry barb this week, both have plenty of males, good size, and great color. Much more impressive than the regular standard cherry. Black rubies are starting to come in at a better size, and the males are starting to show some red, just like the longfin rosy these should show off nicely in something other than the bare bottom tanks here. Gold barbs are still having mixed availability, but the few outside are still coming in big, check the Monday email’s new fish list to see if we’re able to get more in. We still have all three sizes of tiger barbs available, and the mediums are the best bang for your buck. They’re easily twice the size of the regulars and only a few pennies more. Galaxy rasboras are coming in big, and you can actually see what they are. These are a perfect nano tank fish, especially when the males darken up and show off their bright orange fins to one another. The summertime weather has most Florida danios coming in nice and big. The best of the bunch are the pearls, LF zebra, and assorted longfin. |

Lots of swordtails in stock this week, finally got a really solid week of restocks on those where I think we actually got everything we tried to bring in. Red Tux are still the best, but the assorted got significantly better too from the new batch. Velvet wags are not super dark red, but size is solid. Neons are the opposite, with really good color but the size leaving a little to be desired.
We found a platy that we kept skipping on the updating of the stocklist, and it's a really nice one. Hi-Fin Sunset MM is that fish (pictured below) and they have really nice fins and color.
Marbled Mollies are great size and have yellow fins on the males, definitely my favorite molly for the week. The gold dust are pretty decent too, maybe just a hair smaller than the marbles. Green sailfins have full size and great color, a lot of the males have an almost gold molly type color on the front of the body.
No new guppy strains this week, but several looking really bright and healthy are the lemons, red rose, all of the dumbos including the mix, and the red pandas. Red panda are my personal favorite, because they look like the albinos that are sold for big money. |

Got quite a few new items this week. The most exciting is the smallest and currently the least colorful. Geophagus Sveni. If you're not familiar with this species Google it. Yes, most pictures online are an accurate representation of what this fish grows up to look like. Not only is it one of the most impressive Geos, it's one of the most impressive species of freshwater fish. Like most Geophagus adult size can be up to 10", but these rarely get much over 8".These tend be pretty docile and I've seen them kept with Angels and larger species of Tetras. If you have a decent number of cichlid enthusiasts you should definitely bring some in. These will sell based on the name alone.
Something with actual color and size are the 4" Heckelli. Might be slightly under 4" but these have great color and a lot of them already have their streamers. This is another Geo type that sells really well especially once their fins are starting to grow in. Another relatively peaceful species that does well with docile, like sized tankmates. We do have a 3" available but I would definitely recommend spending the extra money and get the larger size.
Sticking with the relatively large but peaceful fish, we got in a very nice batch of Chocolate Cichlids. This one of the nicest brown fish you can find when they reach maturity. Size and color (yes I know they're brown but's a very pretty shade of brown) is really good on these as they are listed as regular.
Didn't realize it when I started writing this but just about everything I'm listing here today can all go together in a large enough tank. The select Salvini are a great value. Definitely grab these over the regular size. Color is already really good and it's only going to get better with age.
And last but definitely not least are wild Oscars in from Colombia. Call me crazy but I think this a much prettier fish than the captive strains. Except for maybe the Chili. These grow up to have a really neat ornate pattern and the best part is you don't see these in box stores. Even though Oscars are a staple in the hobby, your cichlid enthusiasts are sure to appreciate these natural gems.

Got a lot of the OB stuff on sale this week so be sure to check out the specials page. Only have a few pieces left on the OB Redstratus so order early. The OB butterfly Peacocks continue to look amazing. These can sometimes fade when you keep a group of all males together but these look as good as the day they got here. Also on special are the Albino Fire Red Peacocks. These are as bright as can be.
Got in a new batch of regular Red Empress. These are mostly oversized and there even a few males starting to show color. If you missed the email on Monday I put another pic of the Tequila Sun Hap. These are highly variable but all very impressive. Even if you're a purist like me you'll like how well these sell. Makes an impressive addition to any African Cichlid display.
If you're looking for a splash of color but are on a budget because it's summer check out the assorted Import and Strawberry Peacocks. Very bright and very affordable. Just remind your customers that they will fade in several weeks but males will color backup when they mature. |

Plenty of cool scavengers in stock thanks to the Colombia shipment this week. Metae cory are the most exciting addition to the list this week. I know, i know, "its just another cory" but the more cory variety we can get and you can order to keep in stock at all times, the better. If your store just brings in albinos and greens and paleatus every week and never tries anything else I guarantee you you're missing out on potential sales. Farlowellas, Striped and Spotted talking cats, and Clown plecos are all here in decent numbers for the bread and butter of the week. Otocinculus got restocked but quantity is limited so I expect to sell out pretty early. I think the new angelfish are going to have every store we've talked to in the last 5 years ordering this week, so we're very likely to run out of some stuff that on a normal week we wouldn't run out of.
Sewellia loaches are restocked too, and I feel like I always need to mention these because our stocklist calls them Sewellia which is a name most of you have never heard. The common name for these is the "reticulated hillstream" loach that your customers undoubtedly always ask you for. Everyone loves these things.
In the pleco side of things, no change from last week. Still have plenty of Green Phantoms, Colombian Snowballs and Zebras, small Royals, and more small tank raised bushynose and common plecos than we know what to do with. |

Clown Pleco are a much better choice than common plecos for 100% of customers |
|
|
Farlowella AKA "Twig Catfish" are a fantastic oddball algae-eater that's also a much better choice than a common pleco. |
|
|
Sterbai Cory are tank-raised and are almost always the best choice for getting a healthy cory cat. They cost a little more, but you'll save the money on the ones that don't die compared to wild caught cories. |
|
|
Striped Rafael catfish may be common, but there's no denying it's still a cool-looking fish |

No end to the list of new oddballs this week. Hard to know where to even begin. Let's start with the Rhinogobius Zhoui or a much more marketable name, Scarlet Goby. We had these a couple months ago and i was amazed by how well they held up. Some of the other species in this genus have a tendency of coming in a little rough but this is the second time in a row they've come in really solid. We have both males and females available and hopefully they got separated this time. Check with your rep on Monday as we might have pair pricing on these.
One of my favorite newcomers is probably going to be one of the most despised by many, Balloon Kissing Gouramis! Say what you want about Balloon bodied fish, they hold up great and sell really well and these are no exception. Despite they're odd look these came in really solid and I'm sure are going to sell very quickly. I'm even putting some aside for our booth at SuperZoo.
Another Balloon type are the Blood Parrots. Always a great seller and we never seem to get enough no matter how many we order. This batch is particularly nice. Good size and great color. Not to mention these guys are usually tough as nails.
But if you prefer big & bold over ballooned we have two entries right up your alley. Silver Arowanas and Clown Knives. Both will be up and eating smaller fish in no time. Oddly, neither species is particularly aggressive in the conventional sense. They'll just eat anything they can fit into their mouths. Otherwise they usually tend to get along with similar sized tankmates although I prefer to keep these guys individually unles they're being kept in a very large aquarium. |

Got a nice restock on shrimp this week. All the usual suspects including some really nice Yellow fire Shrimp. And of course the red Crystal shrimp are the standout of the bunch like always. I can't imagine there's anyone who's not carrying these but if you've never tried them because of the price point you should bring some in. Especially if you carry live plants. These look amazing in planted aquariums. But one thing to note is that the Bloody Mary Shrimp are a very different lookin strain this time around. More maroon than blood red and some have a bit of a blue hue to them. Still a very nice looking group just different than what you're probably used to seieing as a Bloody Mary type.
One of neatest crustaceans we got in are the Orange & Purple Halloween Crabs. These are new here and so far seem to be doing really well. They're a Vampire type so treat them just as you would any of those. Lots of moist land with a good swimming hole.
Plenty of nice snails this week including a restock on Orange Rabbits. Even at slightly higher price point compared to some other species these always sell out. Also got in a new batch of Assasin Snails. These are great for controlling nuisance snails especially in planted aquariums. And last latest addition are the Zebra Thorn Snails. Even at such a tiny size these are fantastic sellers. |

The Saltwater stock-list gets sent out on MONDAY afternoon.
In saltwater, we offer tons of top-of-the-line corals. If you need really nice frags to sell for $10-15, we've got you covered. If you want a $400 show piece unique Australian brain corals, we've got that too. Tons of the coral frags are aquacultured in-house and are named lineage pieces of various SPS and LPS. Import frags that are MADE in-house are also available, and are great options to get slightly bigger pieces that customers want like torches, hammers, blastos, acans, zoas, etc. |
