Hey Everyone,
For those of you that didn't see the Monday email this week, first I want to point out our new "Every Day Low Price Specials (or EDLP). These are 10 fish we are keeping on special for at least the next 3 months, possibly longer, possibly forever. They're 10 fish that I think every store should have on every order, because you should be trying to maintain at least 50 in your store at all times, and they're the most popular top sellers for most people. Having these unchanging specials will help you plan sales this summer when things slow down a bit. Or you can just take advantage of our pricing on those and make a great margin to increase your profitability. Let your rep know what you think about these, feedback is welcome! We think it will be a gigantic help to everyone that takes advantage of them.
In fishy news, Asia brought us a lot of cool stuff we haven't had in possibly literally years. Albino Heckelli I know for sure it's been years since last time we could offer, and I expect they'll go quick even though it's not the cheapest fish on the planet. Royal Clown Knives are also here I think for the first time ever at 3 inches. Normally when we can get them they're huge adults, so this is a great opportunity to get little ones for a MUCH better price point.
Vampire crabs are back, and you might not know it by only looking at the list, so I'm mentioning it here. The "black and orange halloween crabs" are a type of Vampire crab, and they look amazing.
Some other cool new fish that came in from Asia this week include the striped kuhli loaches, blue tetras, figure 8 and spotted puffers, and orange chromides. Oranda Goldfish of all sizes are super nice from the new source. And we also the current batch of 4 inch imported peacock cichlids is exceptionally nice compared to normal.
Check out the pictures and writeups about the specifics below and give your rep a call if you have any questions

Albino Heckelli! I haven't seen these here in a couple of years. Also known as "threadfin acara", heckelli are one of the less aggressive South American Cichlids and are suitable for community tanks and planted aquariums. The albino version here are absolutely stunning once they're adults, with the gold speckles on their sides really popping on an albino backdrop, and the red eyes and orange in the fins looking extra sharp contrasting against the white. We only got a few of these and I expect they'll go fast. They're about 2 inches. |
Turkana Jewels were featured last week but they had just gotten here and weren't showing any color. They're really starting to pop now only problem is the second you put them in a net they drop quite a bit of color. But as you can see in the pic the color some of them are sporting. |
Royal Clown Knives are somethign we TRY to bring in almost every week, but if you've been looking at the stocklist each week you'll notice that they're virtually never on the list. The suppliers scratch us on these 99% of the time. Now's your chance if you've been waitting! This batch is about 3 inches, and the price is honestly probably way too cheap. I expect they'll fly out of here. The Royal clowns look so much better than the normal clown knives with the stripes that go all the way down the tail and into the body. |
Vampire Crabs are back! Specifically the Orange and black Halloween variety! These guys are not truly aquatic and need basically a terrarium style setup with ACCESS to a shallow water bowl. Basically think of them as Dart Frogs with claws (although much, MUCH easier to feed than Dart Frogs) |
Chili Rasbora are back and look to be the normal "not briggitae" type we usually. 4 or 5 species of Rasbora are all sold as "Chili" Rasbora, and it's like rolling the dice to see what species we actually get shipped from the suppliers in Asia every order. The good news about them not being Briggitae, are these slightly less colorful versions seem to be MUCH hardier and adaptable. Check our price on these, I'm pretty sure we're selling them for less than half of what other wholesalers typically charge. |
Medium Blood Parrots are WAY nicer than the small ones. Color is much more intense. I think we found the smallest one to get the picture of, most are bigger than this. Definitely worth the extra small price increase. |
Spotted Puffers are back in stock. It's been a few weeks so they're a welcome addition back to the list. Just remember to keep some salt on them and they're a hardy and popular fish that most stores would be well served to carry. |
Also restocked more Figure 8 Puffers. They were available last week, but this batch got larger, so just pointing that out so that you are aware of the size increase. |
Orange Chromides are one of the only cichlids from Asia, and they don't really act like "normal" cichlids. I'd say they're closest to maybe Severums, but they max out at half a severum's size. |
Normal Clown knives are also restocked this week, although while we have the royals as an option, I'd highly recommend everyone just get those. They're MUCH nicer looking fish, especially when full grown. |
Banded Kuhli Loaches are back! I hope we have enough to last past Tuesday, but probably not. They've been out of stock with all of our suppliers for many months now so i know tons of you are waiting on these. The list calls them "large", but they're just normal size kuhli loaches. |
Dojo's are restocked and still running great size. Much larger than the golden Dojos. These friendly loaches are a must-have for any store, and can be sold to people with a 20 gallon community tank or to a 125 gallon predatory cichlid tank, they'll do fine in both scenareos and make great bottom cleaners, especially for sandbeds. |
The albino version of Dojo Loaches stand out much better especially on dark colored substrate. They're cheaper than the normal Dojo right now because they're much smaller. |
Blue Tetras haven't been on the list in a while so I'm glad to see these back. The solid blue sheen on this species looks very unique, and a big group of them is awesome to watch especially under a nice bright light. |
The quintessential basic tetra, the Glow Light. They're not the most exciting fish in the world, but every store should carry them since they're a good seller. Remember, it's not about what YOU like, it's what your customers like. And a lot of your customers are middle aged moms buying fish for their kids that just want something that's pretty and pretty cheap. |
Silvertips are back in stock. About a 50/50 ratio of males to females as you can see here. For the money I think this is the best looking tetra species in the world, personally. |
Rosy Tetras are back, also known as the "poor mans candy cane" tetra. Candy Canes are almost never available, so these make an acceptable alternative. They're also about half the price of Candy Canes. |
Lemon Tetras are uniquely slightly yellow, a color that not many freshwater fish naturally have, so I understand why these are so popular. The bright orange eyeball is super cool looking too on these. |
Albino Glowlight tetras are a beautilful solid gold color, and show up great in planted tanks. I'd recommend them highly over normal Glowlights. |
Monstrous sized Flagfish. Stock up now! These are popular for ponds, by the way, and make great hair algae eaters for Koi or Goldfish ponds. |
Gold Honey Gouramis came in super nice this week. Great size and these have the orange tails that add to the coloration also. |
Purple Rasbora Hets are not super purple, but they're cheaper than normal rasbora hets, so order these. |
Celebese Rainbows have been coming in almost full grown, males in great color. |
Signifers remind my of Pygmy Celebese. Similar color and fin extensions, but these max out around an inch. Great nano fish for small planted tanks. Being tank raised here in Florida, they're extremely hardy. |
For larger Rainbowfish, I'd say the Reds are a good pick this week. Males are coming in great. We have a female pictured as well to remind you the difference in sexes, and also to remind you that they're sold as mixed sex. Don't sell males and females the same price. Sell the females for 7 bucks to get rid of them and mark your males up to 20. |

Medium sized red spot gold severums are back in stock this week. A little small for a medium if we're being honest, but they're Florida bred and looking great already unlike the hormone fed Asian imports you might find elsewhere. The natural color on these just means they'll get better and better. |
Albino Tiger Oscars are running a little small and not showing much red, just a heads up. You're better off just buying assorted oscars this week. |
5" Braziliansis didn't sell out! Still have a few left of these. |
EB Carpintis are getting low on stock. If you've been thinking about them but not ordering them, you might not get a chance past this week. These are in full adult color, about 3 to 3.5 inches. |
4" import peacocks came in super nice this week! At this size they shouldn't fade much either. So if you've been reluctant to pay the price for the FL bred cichlids, these are a great alternative. |
Look at this exceptional fish in the 4 inch peacock mix. Whatever's going on genetically in this guy is really cool. |
Large Assorted Haps are a great value for the size, and still have some fish like this big albino comp in there. |
Medium Mixed Haps are also a great value, and include some males already starting to color. |
Have a handful of these adult size Duboisi Maswas. Small group of maybe 8 fish. If you're interested let your rep know, we didn't put them on the stock list since this is probably a 1-time thing. |
Largest size of Orandas came in super nice from the new supplier again! Great mix of colors, and the quality of the fish seem far superior to the Orandas we used to bring in. |
New Black Ranchu Lionheads! Only about 1.5 inches or so, but these will be stunners when they grow up. Nobody wants to pay for 5 inch Black Ranchus, trust me. Get these and grow them up. |
Large Albino Bushynose are consistently extremely nice. Mixed sex, but the males are some of the most impressive fish here. |
Little Red Tail Catfish have been coming in very healthy lately, not paper thin. They do need to continuously eat at this size, they grow shockingly fast. |
Hoplos are on special this week. listed at 2.5 inch but they're more like 3.5 on average. |
White Wizard Snails are going on special this week too, and they're cheaper than mystery snails! |
