Hey Folks,
Big news.... GloFish® Starfire Red® Angelfish are back in stock! This is the first time they've been available in a while, and availability should just continue to get better and better from this week on. They're currently being limited to 3 per store, per week. We're sorry to have to implement a limit like that, but it's the only way to make sure everyone that's been asking about Angelfish has a chance to get some. Trust me when I say, if we weren't limiting them we would be sold out already so this is the fairest for everybody.
If you didn't see our Friday email, you missed a good one. I'm going to just copy/paste the writeup below here again because we got in a bit of a rare shipment from Peru, something we don't do too often. Lots of fish are only found there so we have several cool oddball species for sale this week that you haven't seen on our list in a long, long time.
_______________________________________________________________ FROM FRIDAY: Peru is here! Peru Is here! Peru is here! Due to seasonal weather and shipping schedule restraints we haven't gotten a shipment out of there in months. But the wait is finally over and boy was it worth it. Lot's of new stuff as well as a couple of staple items.
We'll start with my personal favorite, the Sunset Apistos. I get asked all the time why don't we get more wild Apistos? The answer is because most of them come in very small and colorless. That isn't the case with these. There are certainly some smaller females in the mix but there are also dominant males in there already showing off their bright colors. One of my all time favorite dwarf cichlids. Speaking of cichlids we also got in Geophagus Jurapari. Once upon a time these were the most commonly available of all the eartheaters. But that hasn't been the case in recent years due mostly the widespread availability of Florida raised Geos such as Surinamensis and Heckelii (yes I know the latter isn't technically a Geo). And most of the ones coming out of Colombia tend to have a lot of Daemons in the mix. But I can assure you this batch is 100% Jurapari.
One of the most unique and bizarre species to arrive on this shipment are the Cetopsis Candiru aka Blue Dolphin Cat. These are one of the most unique looking carnivorous scavengers on the planet. They have a stretched out body with bright purple coloration. They almost look like a Purple Tilefish from saltwater. In addition to these we got in several other species of catfish including Driftwood Cats. Aptly named as that's exactly what they look like. And unlike the above mentioned these guys are relatively peaceful as long as they're kept with tankmates too big to swallow. We also got in some gigantic Banjo Cats. Probably the most sedentary catfish species there is. I would have to write on their tank "no, they're not dead. That's just what they do" lol. We also got in Lima Shovelnose which stay much smaller and more manageable than their Tiger cousins.
On this shipment we also got in what will probably be the first to sell out, Sabertooths. These sharp fanged predators have always maintained massive popularity amongst hobbyists. A lot less toothy but also super popular are the South American Lungfish. Very small for now, these guys grow up to be one of the most impressive display species out there. And last but definitely not least are the Adonis Plecos. While they do eventually grow to a relatively large size, they have very slow metabolisms and take quite some time to reach maturity. These came in at a perfect size. Not so small where they're frail but not big enough to come in all tattered from fighting.
As usual we did get in a nice Indo shipment this week as well. We also got a restock on Archers but these are going to be extremely limited so order early. But I have to say the one item most people are going be excited about from the far east are the Sewellia Loaches. We haven't had these in a hot minute as the kids say. We got in as many as were available but I sincerely doubt it's enough so don't sleep on these.
Lots of great items in ALL categories this week but too much to list here so be sure to reach out to your rep if you have any questions.

Adonis Plecos are absolutely perfect. |

These are the Peruvian Oto's. They're lighter in shade, and larger than the colombian ones we normally carry. They cost slightly more, but the increased size I think justifies it. They also may hold up better than Colombian Otos, time will tell. |

Peruvian Blue Tetras are confusing on the stock list so I wanted to highlight them here. We have 2 lines of "blue" tetra on the list. The cheaper ones are the Indonesian Tank raised ones we've had a couple weeks. The other ones are the Peru fish. The ones from Peru are much larger, and worth the extra cost. |

Still have tons of small Royal Plecos in stock |
Large Green Terrors are mostly males and have humps starting on most of them already, along with bright orange fins. The size is only slightly larger than the mediums, but the color is much better on these (I think the mediums are mostly females) |
Large Mixed Haps have plenty of nice fish in them like this male Comp that's already coloring up. |
Florida medium mix male peacocks are fantastic and have a great mix of solid strains and hybrids that look cool. |
Albino Paradise Gouramis are running way oversized compared to normal, great time to stock up on theese. I'll be the first to admit when they're running very small they're not really worth the cost, but that's definitely NOT the case this week! |
Goyder River Rainbows also look fantastic right now. You could make a great tank by mixing these and the Yellows from up top! |
Neon Blue Gobies came in last week as well as the Rainbow Gobies. We didn't notice on Friday so we have these on the New Fish list but not on the normal stock list. The Neon Blues are much smaller than the rainbows, so if you want the better bang for your buck I'd recommend the Rainbows. The Blue Neon has a better name recognition though. |

Reptile & Amphibian Highlights
Got a few more additions to the reptile list this week! And most of the cool stuff that got added last week is still available. The Bearded Dragons are especially nice this week, so definitely don't sleep on those (about 6-8 inches). Fat Tail Geckos are back in from Africa, along with Fire Skinks, Baby Ball Pythons (all feeding on mice already), and Pixie Frogs!

Pixie Frog are back! These get absolutely massive, "African Bullfrogs" are the common name. They will easily eat adult mice when they're full grown, but it takes a while to get that big. In the meantime, treat them just like a Pac Man frog. |
